Well GGG's never been decked (to my knowledge anyway) but Froch fought bigger punchers so it's a hard one.

    No.
He could punch but he is not like say Golovkin or Donaire.

Don't get me wrong, Groves is clearly a puncher but let's not use the term "elite" that loosely.

Golovkin has proven to have a better chin but both have granite under those whiskers.

Golovkin has never been hit flush with the same speed and power Froch was hit with by Groves , so its not proven at all.

Groves was a known hitter at 168 , Canelo was never known for being a hard puncher even at his own weight class of 154.

Groves and Kessler are harder hitters than Canelo and Jacobs and they both couldn't stop him despite tee'ing off repeatably on his chin.

A true test of ones chin is how well you deal wit being floored. Froch passed that test with flying colours. GGG was never hit hard enough so he he never even took the test let alone passed it.

Furthermore , Canelo's random potshots wouldn't put a dent in Froch nor would they keep him honest on the outside.

Froch walks through Canelo's stingers without blinking an eye.

Only a casual and /or fanboy thinks GGGs chin is tried and tested like Froch's was.

    how is golovkin like golovkin?

looking at groves record for sub-world fights,he kos and tkos everyone as quickly as 3g tkos and kos people during his sub-world level stage of his career. The KOs ebb when he reaches world level, as does 3G's.

Groves is clearly not an elite puncher.
You would honestly put Groves on a list with the likes of Hagler, Hearns, Louis, Tyson, Shavers, Trinidad?

na those are HOF and ATG punchers/powermongers, a notch higher at least.

Elite is not necessarily cream of the crop all time, its the cream at any moment.

cream of the crop all time is the cream of the cream.

Froch's chin is better he faced bigger and more proven punchers than GGG has.

GGG is the better and more responsible defensive fighter and more skilled overall. He also has better footwork, balance, and is a smaller target with a tighter defense. Froch on the other hand -- is "chin" essentially came down to the enormous power of his will, he willed himself to take whatever was thrown at him and when dropped, willed himself up and got after it again and banged on. In a way Froch's "chin" is more admirable to most, but overall I think GGGS would be considered better.

3G easy. And that's not a slight to froch's chin. Just that 3G's is clearly better.

I was referring to initially the referee allowing froch to continue, he was on very shaky legs at the time, but as you illuded to re groves, your correct I think both the warrior and chinny tags played their part in the 1st fight

Not really. You can't say he's faced 'bigger' guys when each has fought guys in their weight class. That's like saying Froch has a better chin then Wayne McCullough because Froch faced bigger guys.

But what proven punchers did Froch face?
