Wow major props to @Scissors for once again calling this before it was officially announced Your source is rock solid and not to be doubted!
Always seen this as a true 50-50. Problem for Canelo here is that Jacobs is big enough to not sit back and run. He's going to keep Canelo at bay with the jab, which will force Canelo to come out of his shell. It's a very interesting matchup. I probably lean towards Jacobs. However as we know, when you're facing Canelo you've got to be the clear victor rather than a close one otherwise you get beat on the cards. What Jacobs does in the early rounds is crucial given Canelo's stamina. If he can go for the jab, then follow up with some body shots he can make it so the later rounds lean in his favour. This is the test for Canelo. Can he deal with a moving target at middleweight? GGG suited him as he could sit back in his shell. He can't do that in this fight. This gives us an indication of whether he can beat BJS and Andrade.
I can't stand boxing judges or Golden Boy Promotions, but Canelo is awesome. The guy fights everybody, and he consistently shows improvement. His resume is going to be absurdly good for this era when he hangs them up.
