There are always excuses. It´s ****ing ridiculous.
Linares s not a great fighter. He has a ton of physical talents. But there is a reason why his losses have been shocking. It's because he is clearly a really good fighter.

I think it may be more of a case of Loma having ruined Linares.

Linares was born with paper skin and chin, nothing to do with Lomachenko. Thompson got him out in 2, Salgado in 1. It is an upset but history just repeated itself again so it was always a possibility. It definitely takes some gloss off Lomachenko's win.

You think the 135 version of Linares would out up a better fight against Cano?

It takes nothing away from Loma's win. That was an elite win against a supremely talented, big and fast boxer.

Linares has paper skin and can be lit up by big, burly punchers early in fights (as evidenced by his two 1st rd KO's and one 2nd rd KO). The skin failed him against Demarco whom he was lighting up before the cut.

    Linares doesn't belong at 140lbs. He's 33 and can't make 135 anymore and that's his undoing.

Loma fought a MUCH bigger Jorge Linares who was absolutely dialed in after a great training camp.

All I know is, there is a reason why Linares did well against Loma, and it had nothing to do with...idk, whatever this thread is accusing him of.

That result last night was truly shocking. I have never been sold on Linares, but, he got his ASS KICKED by a guy who was stopped by an ANCIENT version of Erik Morales. Clearly this does lower the stock of Loma a bit, given the difficulty he had with Jorge a few short months ago.

Yes, if he could get out of the first 2 rounds. 140 is a step too far for Linares . His build doesn't cut it.

To be fair, an ancient Morales almost kicked Garcia and Maidana's ass.

Im not seeing how any Linares would beat Cano seeing how he was blown out in one round.

He would be less durable at 135 against Cano who is big for 140. If he got out of round one , the stoppage would have came in any round after that.

Look at his facial expression after the second knockdown compared to the first. He knew there was no way he was lasting 12 rounds with this guy.

Touche. But, you will agree that was a shell of the once great Morales. Just goes to further demonstrate the overall decline in boxing over the last 20- 30 years.

    Doesn't matter in the slightest.

Loma didn't beat Linares by exploiting Linares' Achilles heel, he beat him at his own game. Styles make fights.

It's the same way that a puncher knocking out Ken Norton is impressive, but it was way harder to outbox him.

Damn i was calling Loma P4P number 1 but now ive read this i suppose i was really wrong and hes actually average at best. Suppose he will lose his next fight now. And all that elite level skill i thought i saw when i watched him fight, well that must be camera trickery.
