    9. Chacon does well moving in and out for first half of round. Last half they really start to engage, Chacon getting the better of it but Limon having his moments. 30 seconds left Limon visibly wobbling taunts Chacon who obliges him with a shellacking lasting the remainder of the round. This round was Chacon’s best up to this point, and given another 30 seconds he might have closed the show, as Limon was clearly hurt by the end of it. The difference in technique really helps Chacon, compared to Limon’s caveman style, as he can really find an opening for those shots between Limon’s wide swings.

    Chacon 10-9 big

    I hope to get a chance to do more later today and then finish up tomorrow, in time for next weeks FOTW

    Chacon vs Boza Edwards II
    Looks like a split decision 4-2-0 in favor of chacon..a shame we didn’t get more input this is a great fight that deserves more discussion and review. Dreadfully difficult to score or to agree on rbr scoring 4 of us scored 1 10-8, while 2 of us scored it 10-9 by virtue of Boza’s winning the rd prior to the KD. Epic fight, if you didn’t score it, go back and relive this one, you won’t regret the hour spent on classic boxing at its finest.

    Rbr scores
    1 Chacon6-0-0 (4/10-8 rds...2 10-9)
    2 Chacon 6-0-0 (5/10-8 rds...1/10-9)
    3 Edwards 6-0-0 (10-8)
    4 Edwards 6-0-0
    5 Edwards 5-1-0
    6 Draw (Edwards) 2-1-3
    7 Edwards 5-0-1
    8 Edwards (close) 3-2-1
    9 Edwards 4-2-0
    10 Chacon 4-0-2
    11 Edwards 6-0-0
    12 Chacon 6-0-0

    Edwards 7-4-1 in rounds

    Chacon cards
    @Pat M 113-112
    @PhillyPhan69 113-112
    @surfinghb 114-111
    @salsanchezfan 114-112

    Boza Edwards cards
    @Saad54 116-112
    @Jel 113-112

    Thanks guys

    Wow. Saad54 not only had it for Boza, but by 4 points no less.

    In all of our defenses, it's a horrible thing to score.

    I don’t really think it was an unfair card. He did a very good job of explaining his rationale of scoring rds 1-2 10/9 instead of 10-8 (and I think you did the same in rd 1)It is the wide end of the spectrum only giving Chacon 3 rds. But not out of possibility. He gave 7 rds to Boza all of which were the consensus rounds scored for him. Only rd 10 which seemed a Chacon rd did he score a Draw round (but to be fair so did Pat).

    Oh I agree. Not putting it down, merely using that result as evidence of just how difficult it is. Boza was more than competitive for sure.

    The best FOTW edition so far! Two all-time great fights that are two of my absolute favourites as well.

    Just watched Boza-Edwards v. Chacon I (one of the bonus fights):

    Some very close rounds that I might score differently if I rewatched but at the time Chacon quit I think I had it:

    Boza-Edwards: 2, 5, 6, 7, 11?, 12, 13
    Chacon: 1, 4, 9, 10?
    Even: 3, 8,

    I like Boza-Edwards' style but he's too stiff and seems to have subpar reflexes/reaction time. Didn't adapt well on the fly either, as there were a few sequences where Chacon nailed him with the same right leads over and over again, and numerous exchanges where Chacon rolled and ducked to his left under punch after punch after punch. Still, I thought that Boza-Edwards landed the sharpest punches in some of the middle rounds and outworked him in the last several rounds. Chacon seemed to gas though he seemed to catch a second win in the middle rounds before losing it and quitting on his stool after the 13th. Entertaining fight.

    Oh my days what a fight this was
    I forgot how hard it was to score if I'm honest. I gave 2 10-8 rounds with no KD to Chacon in the 9th and 13th. Both were bad pastings imo.

    1. Limon 10-9
    2. Even 19-19 (Chacon 10-9)
    3. Limon 29-27 (Limon 10-8)
    4. Limon 39-36 (Limon 10-9)
    5. Limon 49-46 (Even 10-9)
    6. Limon 58-56 (Chacon 10-9)
    7. Limon 68-65 (Limon 10-9)
    8. Limon 77-75 (Chacon 10-9)
    9. Even 85-85 (Chacon 10-8)*
    10. Limon 95-93 (Limon 10-9)
    11. Limon 104-103 (Chacon 10-9)
    12. Even 113-113 (Chacon 10-9)
    13. Chacon 123-121 (Chacon 10-8)*
    14. Chacon 133-130 (Chacon 10-9)
    15. Chacon 143-138 (Chacon 10-8)

    I’d have to rewatch 9 and 13 but I don’t remember thinking they were 10-8s, only because even in the rounds that Chacon unleashed an unholy shellacking (yes, it’s a word) on Limon, Bazooka still had success of his own. But, like I say, I need to rewatch it to be sure.

    I could see a 10-9 in both cases, just as any 10-8 without a KD. But Limon was drooling on the ropes for the final minute for both. Note this is the only fight I've ever scored 2 rounds 10-8 without KD.
