Who has Linares ever beat 50p Corolla lol? He is just another over hyped midget. Khan and Broner would both mutilate him easy, easy work. This guy should have probably lost 1 of those fights against 50p they were that close lol.
What are Khan's amazing wins again? Leaving aside the ancient blown up Barrera, he's got: Maidana Kotelnik Alexander Malignaggi McCloskey Collazo Algieri That's a whole bunch of "good but not great". Pretty much exactly what Linares has. I'm not sure where people are seeing a difference in quality.
Judah was a pretty good win. I think Linares has better ability , but I don't see how he has a better resume. Crolla and Campbell aren't better than Maidana and Devon.
I'm a big fan of Loma but it was insufferable the way people were hyping up Linares just because Loma beat him. Hope people can see things more clearly now.
Except khan dominated them whereas linares went life and death. This tells me you don’t know **** about boxing. You can tell the level of a fighter by seeing who they lost to, how badly they lost to them, who they struggled with, who they beat and how well they beat them. Linares either loses to c level fighters 4 times or wins a life and death battle. Khan has lost once to a c level fighter (yes once can be a fluke but not 4 times) and destroys other c level fighters. If you were to rate Devon a c level fighter, based on khans fight against him, you can’t seriously rate 1 guy c level and the other also c level when he is beating him spectacularly. In fact khan on that night looked A class or B. Linares even during his best wins still looked c level as he was barely getting by another c level fighter. And maidana is far far far better than crolla. Let me know when Crolla gives a p4p atg split decision fight it warrants a rematch. Let me emphasise that, maidana arguably had a split decision win over Floyd. What in crollas resume even comes close to that?? You overrate the lighter divisions. It’s like the lighter they go the higher you rate them. Lmao what a joke.
Linares can box but doesnt have that toughness inside him obviously to be a top level boxer. Loma beating him was decent enough because Loma moved up to 135 and Linares was already established at that weight and obviously way bigger. Overall Linares has very weak chin and his skin cuts easily and seems to underestimate and doesn`t take seriously lower level of opposition sometimes. Going up to 140 was bad idea with such weak attributes at 35 years of age as well with 50 figthts already. Still Linares is solid B level boxer on his day but isnt some top material p4p fighter simply because such fighters cant lose against journeymen occasionally. The excuse about Cano being 5 lbs heavier isnt good enough sadly if you are top boxer 5 lbs against such a level of opposition shouldnt be that big of a problem.
Linares may have elite offensive technique, but does tend to suffer defensive lapses, and doesn't recover all that quickly when he gets clipped early in the fight. Cano's better technically than he anticipated, but he really had no idea of how to react after getting dropped a few seconds into the fight. That's been an issue earlier in his career, and it doesn't look like he's been able to address it completely since he first got stopped by Salgado.
Glass jaw? Maybe not but definitely paper skin... Big fan of Linares and think he’s tremendously skilled but Cano was a stylist nightmare for him...
Yup, he's had 50 fights over 4 weights & been pro 17 years.. That's going to catch up to u eventually too. A talented but vulnerable fighter... I don't think he'll quit yet though.
You can deny it all you want buddy, but glass jaws DO exist in boxing and lots of fighters have them. This is the REASON "KOs [are] a part of boxing!" And Linares is clearly a prime example of a glass jawed warrior. Not his fault, it just is. And it determines the outcomes of fights, as it did last night.
