What are some fights you got abysmally wrong? Every so often a fight comes along that goes so much different than I thought it would that it leaves me wondering how I could have been that wrong... and kinda brings my prediction confidence back down to earth lol. My hall of shame are... 1. Wilder vs Fury : Absolutely didnt think it was possible for Fury to be in that sort of fighting condition after his layoff and how he looked in his comebacks. And even so, I still thought Wilders athleticism would see him being able to control range more. 2. Dawson vs Ward : I really thought Dawsons length and talent would give Ward issues. The first round played out pretty much as I thought most of the fight would. Ward made the adjustments he needed to and Dawsons lack of toughness and durability compounded how bad my prediction was. 3. Margarito vs Mosley : I really just thought Mosley would get outworked and lose a close decision. But it turned out to be a destruction. 4. Thurman vs Garcia : I really thought this would be a comfortable win for Thurman... turned out to be way more competitive than I thought it would be. 5. Golovkin vs Jacobs : Actually this should be number 1 or 2. I felt Golovkins physicality and power would be the story of the fight... instead, while the fight showed glimpes of how Idnthought it would go, ultimately whether golovkin couldnt goninto second gear or he was unwilling to, tye fight ended up being razor thin, either way type fight. So off the top of my head right now, those are some of my worst calls, in my opinion.
Rigo vs Loma, was a nice ****up, tbh. I never thought Rigo would behave like that, even with the weight difference. Too bad.
Hatton to beat Pacquiao Rhodes to beat Canelo. Best one I have ever heard - close friend had a draw - Hopkins vs Pascal. Great bet.
Dirrell was my sleeper pick to win the Super Six. I thought he, not Ward, was going to be the best 168 pounder of the post-Calzaghe era.
Predicting Glen Johnson to shatter Roy's glass in round 8. Knew I should've gone with my gut feeling of round 9.
Very embarrassing the way he quit like a *****, he has no heart whatsoever , he's not a real fighter. Lomachenko completely dominated him.
Bute vs Froch, the last time I ever got blinded by hype for a fighter that hadn't stepped up to fight an elite in his division. Froch ruined him that night, and I still remember when Bute's head gave way from I think it was a left against the ropes. Then Froch started teeing off on him, he was never the same after that night.
Well I do get some fights right lol....but I have some bad ones!!! 1 Jeff Lacy to stop Calzaghe in 7...TBF 90% of people were picking Lacy even though you would hardly know it today. 2 Hatton stops Floyd in 10 3 Hatton stops Pac in 6 Yeah, I was (and still am lol) captain of the Hatton bandwagon 4 MAB shuts out JMM 5 Carl the Truth Williams to beat Tyson Just the tip of the iceberg lol
I thought Bakole was going knock out Michael Hunter. Genuine, unshackled stupidity. Completely ignored the fact Hunter is an Olympian who gave an arguably top 5 p4p fighter his hardest fight, and bought Billy Nelson’s talk of him being the best thing since sliced bread. Never again.
