Literally nothing has changed. Golovkin wasn't stopping BJS from fighting other people and Golovkin fought Jacobs too.

Golovkin held 3 belts. Now Canelo hold 3 belts. What the hell is the difference? Other than the fact that Canelo randomly goes to SMW leaving the MW division stagnant while he's gone that is.

 

Yes and no. Yes, once GGG was "THE MAN" at 160 he was far too concentrated on the money fighter who at the time was at the sacred weight class of 155. Once Oscar figured he could manipulate GGG and his team because they were chasing money, he put them in position to either hold up title fights and drop belts for Canelo or fight BJS and become undisputed champion.
GGG chose to try to chase the money and this is the results. Fans of GGG can't say "boxing is a business" for Golovkins sake and when the business sides with the money, Canelo, turn round and claim that he was done wrong. He knew he had no chance in hell of being victorious over the current face of boxing if he did not KO Canelo. Thats not to say I think GGG won any of those fights but the second fight was clear he loss backing up the entire time.
Credit to GGG ,his team, and HBO they saved the 160 division when it was on ice, that cannot be denied. There was no interest in middleweight unless Mayweather wanted to go there before Golovkin brought the heat, but when he held the power he gave it all away to Canelo and now he is back at square one.

He fought Jacobs then fought Canelo back to back. he was also signed to fight Pirog. But yeah, Canelo fighting Jacobs after Golovkin already beat Jacobs is proof that the division is better now. okay.

do you think this is true? He only held a belt that he won since 2014, so thats only 2 years of holding a belt outside of canelo.

And in that time he made 2 good defences, 1 middler defence and 2 crap one. If he had fought 4 crap and 1 middler then sure it would have been holding it up, but defending a fair standard as the majority is good work for a champ.
