No I wasn't actually but thanks for the info, last I heard he had welcomed the fight on Dec 22nd, when was this silence and is it documented or just commented on by you or other fans?

Would of been a fantastic match up a real 50/50, maybe the fee's were not right, who knows but a shame it never materialized

edit - quick google search brought the video up below dated after Ortiz accepted DW's challenge. Video makes it sounds like unrealistic fees, doesn't seem like he's been avoiding Ortiz but then who knows

So Whyte gets offered more than £4 million yet somehow believes that's a lowball offer.

The sense of entitlement needs to stop. Fight ing the champ doesn't mean you deserve tens of millions. Beat the champ and then make demands.

Honestly if it wasn't Joshua, Whyte would've never exist.

I would like to see the actual offers, hope Hearn delivers on showing us.

I think its pathetic that these guys are turning down the opportunity to become a unified or undisputed world champion for millions and calling it "lowball" or demanding more.

Similar to last week how in football that 18 year old I have never heard of (Udoi?) turned down 85k a week to potentially join a bigger club for more money. It is becoming ludicrous.

On the surface 4 million sounds like a more than reasonable deal.

However like Twentyman touched upon, you have to consider the overall value of the fight. If it's estimated to be over 20 million and Whyte is offered a flat fee, that means that he will not be entitled to any ppv profits

This is why he would be well within his right to turn down the deal and demand a split

Eddie Hearn simply needs to stop offering flat fees, it's what helped mess up his relationship with Finkel and Wilder.

There seems to be a trend where a host of fighters have had problems negotiating reasonable terms with Eddie Hearn and Joshua. Fury, Parker, Whyte and Wilder have all stated in the past that they've received ridiculous insulting offers.

Parker had to release an offensive video exposing Joshua's chin, before he was then offered a reasonable deal. Wilder had to fight Fury and show Eddie Hearn that he didn't need Joshua, to then be offered a percentage.

I don't know what Dillian Whyte will have to do but it's patently clear they have reservations fighting him in April. Obviously Joshua has seen that Whyte has improved considerably in terms of his approach and conditioning, while witnessing first hand at ring side the left hook which put his home town friend to sleep right before him and has decided along with his team that Dillian is just not worth the risk and it would be wiser to go after Miller who no doubt will be offered a reasonable percentage deal, with no questions asked.

Just how ludicrous is it exactly..?

Between a Vicar dating an under age girl.... and.... wearing a yellow business shirt to a meeting.

It is a hard fight for Whyte. He could lose everything and go back to the bottom of the pile. It is not just the belts that matter, it is the money and where the loser goes after.

Whyte has grinded out wins for this one specific fight... so he has actually done the hard work already. Stop boasting the narrative of 'Ohh chance to do this... do that...'

He has already proved his worth by getting here which wasn't exactly an easy road.

What other contender has grinded harder than Whyte? And generated the boxing revenue he has?

    Deafening silence.

Stop questioning Whyte's actions... they are perfectly valid. He hasn't asked for a 50 50 split like the other two nob jockeys have... who ain't put in half the work.

    FFS

This fight is dangerous. He should be well paid for it... as AJ gets the largest slice of pie anyways.

Funny how Hearn neglects to offer flat fee's to the likes of Chisora, who asks for it, as Chisora is upredictable in showing up for promotional events and fulfilling obligations to market the fight.

Whyte always takes part in any obligations to market the fight... he is a dedicated Jamaican that makes every effort to get that extra penny.

And then he gets a flat fee... given his PPV successes lol???

My oh my... 70/30 and not a penny less. I'd even say Parker/AJ split to be honest.

You have no point because you don't even know what you're complaining about, , Remember you said I was the most toxic worthless poster on this board. Other members would beg to differ which is the point I was making. I don't post to please others. I simply post because I am passionate about boxing and there are like minded individuals on here who also enjoy discussing boxing. Sadly there are also trolls and those with limited intellectual capacity who can't articulate their points and get frustrated and lash out through insults and personal attacks and decide to take on personal grievances.

Hence why you are in here still offering nothing to the discussion because you have nothing of value to add. You seem to have a serious problem with me merely posting. You were even kicking up a fuss and leveling personal insults my way, because I posted a thread with a Broner press conference

Something is wrong with you since you feel compelled to track me every time I create a thread or post. If you have a problem with me, put me on ignore, it will make you feel better. It's what I do with posters who I feel offer nothing or if I don't want to read their posts because there is nothing of value that I take from it.

I do not follow them every time they create thread and tell them what a bad guy they are and how much of a nuisance they are. I simply put them on ignore or block them. When you ignore a member you will not see their threads or posts. Problem solved. But we know you can't help it because you're obsessed with me.

So if you have nothing to add but complain about my posts, I politely ask you to leave this discussion to the big boys as you would say and let us continue discussing the topic at hand. instead of derailing the thread with your pettiness.

Voice of reason? You have DW as an avatar pic and supporting text. I'd say you have an unhealthy interest, not a voice of reason.

He hasn't said it is a flat fee neither has Whyte. It is likely atleast what he would make if the numbers etc sold based on their estimates. There are always upsides to purses at their level particularly where PPV is involved. In regards to Whytes next step if he loses it would be the same in any scenario, he does not make the same level of money in any other fight Worldwide.

The second biggest fight he could be offered would be Wilder where at a push he may get $2m and then where does he go from there. I agree Whyte needs to hold out for maximum payday but dependant on the terms of the offer which none of us know the money is not too bad at all Considering its over double his highest purse and he gets to fight for all the belts.

The power AJ has is Whyte does not have many other offers, go to PBC make £500k a fight max and wait for 2020 once Wilder has fought Fury and Breazeale and even then get less than the AJ fight. If he loses the AJ fight with 2 wins on his record he could get back towards a mandatory Wilder shot.

My estimate which is a total guess is that this offer is based on 1m PPV buys (if split with Sky 50/50 £10m) plus a 80k live gate at £6m and overseas money etc maybe £18m revenue and they have offered Whyte more than £4m according to Hearn so its probably a 25% split with a garauntee but i reckon Whyte will be given and accept a deal at 30%.

Watch and listen carefully to the interview instead of making up your own story,, Whyte confirmed he was offered a flat fee.

And AJ doesn't have that many options left. It's either Whyte or Miller and there is already a backlash mounting on social media every time Miller's name gets brought up as a potential opponent for AJ.

His reputation as a legitimate champion will take a further nose dive if he continues to price himself out of a fight with Dillian Whyte of all people. It already took a big hit after he rejected the 50 million and insisted on offering flat fee deals to another champion.

Lesson's need to be learned so they don't end up with **** back in their face again. As the reality they are in this position of potentially being held to ransom against Dillian Whyte all because they messed around Wilder with low balling and wanted to string Fury along in 5 fight deals against scubs before he could face Joshua.

Even Usyk has to go through scrubs before Hearn lets him go anywhere near Joshua even though he's a unified super champion who has a right to challenge for the HW title.

Do you realise that if it's not a flat fee and the £4m is inclusive of a share of the PPV money, that would make his base pay paltry and would therefore be even more pathetic than a £4m flat fee.

It was a flat fee offer. Hearn is a ****ing scumbag, he represents Whyte on a fight-by-fight basis yet is lowballing him just to milk and appease his cash cow even further. If anyone thinks this guy has an ounce of integrity in business or even on a personal level with his own fighters they need to remove his rich boy Essex **** and balls from their mouths and get a grip on reality. Eddie Hearn is boxing's answer to Fredo Corleone. Not an ounce of honour and integrity.
