I think that’s abit too low, I’m not keen on this fight but Dillian actually brings a name to the table. I’m not sure what he is worth because Matchroom doesn’t present their numbers but I think he should get around 6 mil for the fight considering he has been a PPV headliners.

What do you think is this a fair offer or is Dillian right to call it a low ball offer?

That's not a lowball offer, if Whyte doesnt take that offer it's a duck and I say that as a Whyte fan.

Povetkin got $4 mil, Whyte is offered 4+ mil of pounds = more than $5 mil. I think it's very good offer.

I think if it's guarantee that's good. With ppv sales on top that's a good deal

5+ is a great offer, what kind of figure is he holding out for? He’s not getting more than a million against anyone else who’s available now.

Personally i think he is worth 4 million for the Joshua fight, i also dont think either Wilder or Fury are worth 40% against Joshua. But in this current climate 4 million was never going to get Whytes signature and im surprised Hearn can stand there with a straight face and say 4 million whats wrong with that? I thought with the April date coming fast and Wilder and Fury a clear no go Whyte would get somewhere between 8 and 10 and half expected Whyte to turn that down too.

I get Eddies argument that Whyte, Wilder and Fury are demanding way too much and its getting silly now and that we need to remember Joshua is the clear A side against all of them and they need to hold some value to the belts as well as their financial demands. But exactly because it is getting silly now Eddie should of known 4 million was not going to get the job done and even though technically and in reality its a fair and reasonable offer it will be seen as a lowball and the criticism is going to start flooding in.

So in reality its not a bad offer but Boxing doesnt seem to be living in reality right now, not just Hearn and Whyte i mean everybody, so in the current climate its as good as a **** offer. Unless the upsides pretty much doubles it.

I've been waiting to see your response to this situation. Unsurprisingly you managed to somehow justify both Whyte & Eddie's actions lmaooo

I’d say Whyte is worth about £5 - 6 million as he brings name value, can sell a PPV well and has a history with AJ which can Be used to promote this better than most other fights. Whyte has been quite loyal and thought a lot of contenders in the div so he does deserve some kind of decent pay check.

Depends on what Whyte would make if the fight went to purse bids.

Usually the opponent gets at least 25% (and the champ 75%). This week the WBA ordered a cruiserweight purse bid and the split was 55% for the beltholder (Shumanov) and 45% for the challenger.

If that's the case, Joshua might have to take less than he normally makes (which won't make him happy) or Hearn might have to overbid to cover Joshua's regular purse and give Whyte anywhere from 25% to 45% of what Joshua earns, and who knows what that will be.

I think Eddie Hearn is afraid of the fight going to purse bids, which is why he threatened Whyte online this week saying he'd better take the offer or Hearn might try to petition the WBO to list Usyk as the mandatory.

But that seemed like a weird threat because if Usyk became the mandatory he just might wait for the fight to go to purse bids, too. (LOL)

Personally, I don't think Eddie was ever really interested in rematching Joshua and Whyte. I think he signed Whyte because he believed he could eventually promote a Wilder-Whyte fight.

And either Whyte would lose to Wilder (and Hearn would be rid of Whyte) or, if Whyte won, Whyte and Joshua could fight for all the belts.

Or Hearn thought if he matched Whyte tough (like against Parker) that Whyte might lose. And he'd be rid of him that way.

I don't believe Hearn ever thought he'd have to make Joshua-Whyte II without all the belts being on the line.

But now that he's put Whyte on PPVs for a year, and Whyte ran thru everyone, Joshua-Whyte II is a bigger fight now than it was a year ago. Everyone (Wilder, Fury, Whyte) vs Joshua is a bigger fight today than it was a year ago.

I don't think Eddie Hearn really thought any of this would happen.

You don’t think Hearn thought he’d beat Parker and chisora ? They were hardly upsets were they?

4m seems low.... although Joshua will KO him again anyway this fight is pointless at this time... miller/pulev would be better.

I don't think he thought Whyte would beat Parker. No. Just my opinion.

I think Hearn promised Whyte a title shot when he signed him. I think Hearn's plan all along was to get Whyte a shot at Wilder. When Hearn couldn't push that thru, I don't think Hearn had any interest in making Whyte-Joshua II. I think he made Whyte-Parker thinking Whyte would lose.

The first Joshua-Parker fight was a bigger fight than the first Joshua-Whyte fight. And Parker didn't hurt Joshua like Whyte did. I'm sure Hearn would've been more comfortable with a Parker rematch than a Whyte rematch.

Why do you think that? That’s based on absolutely nothing.

Makes me laugh, there’s no consistency with fans. Everybody said Hearn and AJ had no desire to fight Fury/Wilder and the Whyte rematch was accepted to be happening by pretty much everyone including frank warren. “We all know AJ is fighting Whyte next”, his own words. Suddenly Hearn had no plans to make this fight because Whyte isn’t happy with making millions?

It's based on the fact that Joshua-Parker made more than Joshua-Whyte. And Parker turned out to be less of a threat than Whyte.

So, of course, he would've preferred a Joshua-Parker rematch to a Joshua-Whyte rematch.

If he wanted to make Joshua-Whyte II, Hearn could've done it much sooner. Everyone knows that. Hell, he could've made that fight in the UK instead of having Joshua fight freaking Eric Molina or Breazeale. (It's not like either of them were the top contenders.)

Parker was a huge threat to Whyte. So was a fit Chisora (based on how close the first Chisora-Whyte fight was).

Hearn, IMO, tried to get Whyte a fight with Wilder for some time. When he saw that wasn't going to happen, Hearn tried to get Whyte knocked off last year. That didn't work. Now he's threatening Whyte to take his offer or he'll try to get someone else rated as the mando.

If Hearn was TRYING to make Whyte-Joshua II as big a fight as it could be (and it arguably is that right now) ...

Hearn would be hyping this as a HUGE fight ... (and he's not).

Instead, Hearn is telling Whyte to "take the offer" or I'll get someone else rated as the mando.

And if Whyte could make more if the fight goes to purse bids, then Hearn's offer wasn't good enough for such a big fight.

By trying to get Whyte knocked off (and failing), Hearn is now faced with having to make Joshua-Whyte II and paying Whyte 25% to 45% of Joshua's purse ... which I'm sure makes Hearn sick. Because he never wanted this rematch.
