It has about as much validity as a simulated match in the fight night vjdeo game. Actually, even lese because fight night has computers 50x more advanced than the 60's and an additional 60 years worth of boxing knowledge.

    Fun fight, well choreographed.

I heard Ali and Marciano became friends after, even planned to do talks at newly unsegregated schools. That'd actually make Marciano Ali's first white friend. Dunno if it was the fact that Marciano was Ali's hero growing up or if it was the ol' Brockton hospitality. Good awakening period for a younger, opinionated Ali

Though Marciano's death only made Ali more distrustful of planes, sadly

I can't believe it but it's true. I think every sentence in this post is totally wrong.

It wasn't a fun fight. It wasn't well choreographed. That clip alone, with those knockdowns, is brutal.

Ali and Marciano weren't friends. And the Nation of Islam preached segregation. Ali didn't believe Blacks and Whites should live together for many years, let alone attend school together, certainly not while he was a member of the Nation of Islam while Elijah Muhammad was alive. Certainly not in 1969. They wanted their own nation. They believed in segregation.

Joe Louis and Floyd Patterson were Ali's idols growing up. He said it repeatedly. It's why he got so angry at both men when they spoke out against him.

Ali grew up in a middle-class neighborhood and had a lot of white friends growing up, including the police officer who got him into boxing and his trainer.

And Ali actually traveled all over the world on planes. He flew on more planes than practically any champion before or after him. He flew on planes when they told him he could die if he did - like when he got blood clots in his legs after the Inoki fight. He was afraid of flying when he was a teenager flying to Rome for the Olympics. But he lived on planes as champion. When he joined the nation, he said he never feared flying because Allah wouldn't let him die in a plane crash. When he wasn't fighting abroad he was doing exhibitions and tours to countries all over the globe. He certainly wasn't afraid of planes in 1969. If they hadn't taken his passport, he'd have been on the first plane out of the country.

Literally, every sentence you wrote is the opposite of the truth.

    Congratulations. That's amazing.

Ali grew up on Marciano's fights, read "Ali, a life" by Jonathan Eig. That book also talks about their friendship

You can read about their friendship from the other perspective in "Undefeated" by Mike Stanton, or watching "Rocky Marciano: A Life"

^ "Marciano and I were good friends"

Stop painting Ali as forever racist. He grew to resent the Nation of Islam

Please remember that there were at least three different versions of the ending of the fight.
Both fighters winning, you just ordered which result you wanted.

I once played Tommy Morrison on the fight night champion computer game and completely wiped out Ali in 5 rounds.

Ali saved his best (or should that be his worst ) racist attacks for Frazier.

Jokes and banter aren't racism. Ali also said racist stuff to Wepner during their fight, it was strategy to get them angry.

"Hating people because of their color is wrong . And it doesn't matter which color does the hating. It's just plain wrong" -Ali

How the hell does your comment have so many likes? It's a known fact that Ali and Marciano were friends. Ali showed up to his damned funeral for ****s sake. Almost every account of their meeting has them ending up as friends

Ali himself said Marciano and him were friends for Christ's sake!

You can't make this **** up

Yeah maybe but only the guy on the receiving end of the abuse can tell you whether it was just jokes and banter and it's well known that Frazier remained bitter and hostile towards Ali to his dying day for all the repetitive racist uncle Tom and gorilla remarks that Ali made about him.
