Curry would do well in the early going before being stopped later. He was a heckuva fighter at his finest.

It wouldn't be Leonard who have to adjust to Curry's speed, trust me...

It'd be Curry who would have zero answers for Leonard's speed.

Give Curry A little more credit. He had a great skill set, and had some of the fastest hands in welterweight history, he had the tools to trouble any welter, including R Robinson for a few rds. His problem was he didn't have a great chin . And he wouldn't be able to keep a Robinson, a Leonard, a Hearns, from eventually reaching him, and stopping him.

Which welterweights did Leonard beat that were significantly better than the welterweight Curry at his best?

When was Curry at his best? When did he fight guys of the caliber of Hearns,Benitez or Duran? Never. Milt was not. Starling was still green when he fought him. Colin Jones? Curry was very very good, but the Milt fight elevated him more than it should have in retrospect.

Maybe but I wouldn’t say they were significantly better than Curry.

They were better. He had a great moment and soon after lost to Honeyghan in a fight he could have dug deep and proved he was like them, and he didn't. Skills are one thing, digging deep is another.

Yeah but almost all fighters have their moments when you think that they could have done more and dug deeper instead of doing a no mas.

Curry wasn't able to stage any type of meaningful comeback, after Honeyghan, though. It was pretty much all downhill for Curry after that loss. It puts his early merits into perspective, when pitted against Greats like Leonard, Benitez, Hearns and Duran.

But Curry did not. He had his great moments but he never beat a really great fighter, but he was a very very good fighter. We all overrated him for Milt. People somehow mistook him for Leonard and Milt for Hearns.

We’re not comparing careers here though but how they would have fared against each other at their welterweight best and I think Curry is been a bit overlooked here. I think Leonard would win a clear but very competitive decision but it’s no forgone conclusion.

I am just saying, Ray was more proven than Donald and found ways to win. I don't think he would have lost to Lloyd, although I think Lloyd was a very good fighter.
