Cruiserweight and Heavyweight thread.

I read an online article for a Joplin, MO newspaper that stated that Trey-Lippe Morrison has recovered from his foot injury (an infected plantar wart) and is back training with Freddie Roach. The article stated that his next fight could come as soon as March - but there was no fight or opponent scheduled yet.

 

No opponents yet named for Teper, Scott, or Santos - but we can certainly rule out Jo-el Caudle because Caudle will be fighting a 5-0 prospect (I don't recall the name of the prospect) in late February.

I'm wondering if Zhilei Zhang could figure in here. While it's an open secret that Zhang is 18 months younger than his "official" date-of-birth - there is such a thing as waiting too long to step up and he's in the danger zone, IMO. Any of Scott, Teper or Santos would be good step-up fights for him.

 

Arslanbek Makhmudov just stopped Jason Bergman in one minute and thirty-seven seconds.

 

Seen that fight already and Whyte will surely get KO'd again. Miller would be more competitive.

 

An impressive result. Bergman usually is not an easy fighter to stop early (Muralimov stopped him in 2 rounds several years ago) and he has had some brave efforts in losing causes (e.g. going the distance with Robert Alfonso and Rudenko). Maybe the years and mileage are catching up to him though.

 

Well Forrest proved me wrong by KO'ing Capers in 3 rounds. That's pretty impressive, actually, because Capers is an upset-minded fighter with decent skills.

Sadly, Forrest goes back to work in a couple weeks at his local Masonic Temple facing yet another last-minute TBD. I don't see Forrest progressing very far but I would like to see them at least *try* to step him up again.

 

Parker also took a while to get him out of there.

Why are they so keen on seeing Price get brutally knocked out?

 

Hrgovic and Saureland must see this as a PR stunt to get their boy UK exposure. Won't do much for his rankings though.
