It's because MR are in a sticky wicket re the Heavyweights and have had to change plans frequently. They've been frozen out by the two other players and are clearly feeling the fan feedback.
And it's only a good thing for the HW division no matter what figures AJ fans try to throw at people. Hopefully we see AJ thrown in with Wilder/Fury earlier than what the Hearn's wanted as a result instead of have him fighting fringe contenders for the next few years.
This should have been booked for April 1st seeing the shambles this event has turned out to be. Hearn/AJ have really taken a hiding because of their sheer arrogance of pre -booking a date with no opponent. Now looks like they are forced to go to MSG which holds about 20k to fight an opponent who is from the city, but is basically unknown in his own patch. I bet they are scared shitlesss about whether they can actually sell it out and the potential damage to the brand. AJs fanbase, don’t necessarily look the type who will be following him oversees in massive numbers- I might be pleasantly surprised though.
Cos' he's fighting also-rans and contenders as opposed to live opponents and the casuals, for the most part, have clocked it or certainly will soon. The plan has been rumbled and derailed. You know it, everyone knows it. I bet there are voodoo dolls of Fury with pins in all around the MR headoffice.
Of course they're feeling fan feedback. Six months ago no one had a bad word to say about AJ. Suddenly there's a lot of negativity on social media towards him and Eddie. Every single major SM platform, before you say some rubbish about my "facebook friends". You only have to look on here as an example. I blame Eddie for farting about with Wilder the first time. If you don't think they're feeling some heat you're in denial. He's gone from offering Wilder 15 million dollars to 40% in just a few months.
His last fight did 1.1m buys in Wembley stadium. If that's the casuals turning on him I'd like to see what would happen if he was ever successful.
So if I went back six months on here I'd see nobody having a bad word to say about Joshua? He's gone from 'nobody has a bad word to say' to 'the casuals are turning and Matchroom are terrified' in the space of one fight? Here's some guesswork. If Joshua's next fight is in the UK he does a million PPVs minimum. If it's in America he does half a million minimum in the middle of the night. Talk of casuals suddenly deciding they're not interested is as likely as the guy on here who reckons he's one loss away from undercards at the York Hall.
Proving a point. Gate numbers for ppv's are easy to find but the one which isn't is Wilder v Fury. Numbers don't stay hidden if they are good. The fight bombed at the gate just as many said it would when a week out there were thousands unsold and they were trying to sell them via groupon.
I've given you a source for the gate. There is a simple solution to prove otherwise. The promoter and commission could just release the numbers like they usually do................oh wait. The second fight may be a huge success but really its not that difficult to accept that the first fight was not a some mega event which many claimed it would be.
Who has claimed it was a mega event? Promoters? It's you matchroom fan boys who have your knickers in a twist over it. Calm down mate.
