MisMatchroom's strategy, or lack of it surrounding this is totally bizarre. Sending derisory offers to Whyte knowing they would be knocked back when there is no other real option to fill the stadium other than that fight.

The sort of crowd that got stung last time in wales with the Takam fight wont be in a hurry to see similar Povetkin/Takam sort of opponent in a stadium fight, they now know of the real contender's in the division after the exposure Fury and Wilder got.

Looks like they will settle for a mis match against Miller who is a rich man's stivern type pudding and try and dress it up as Britain v USA to fleece the masses into thinking its a contest, expect to see AJ about 15/1 on favourite.

They wouldn't of been frozen out if wasn't for their unreasonable demands when trying to offer real opponents a deal, if they were ever serious about fighting them at all which I also doubt and feel it was all a front.

I don’t get it...why does it mean so much to you whether some people think it was a ‘mega’ event? Why does the idea that 2 heavyweights can make a nice bit of wedge without AJ really bother you?

And before you say ‘it doesn’t bother me’ etc I would argue that it does because whenever the subject goes on to numbers (ZZZZzzzzz) you’re consistently all over it like s**t on a duvet.

No I simply responded to the claim that Wilder v Fury drew 18000 paid attendance. It didn't but that doesn't mean a rematch will not do so. Just this particular fight wasn't a hit at the box office. Why that seems to be so hard for some to accept I don't know. The numbers don't lie.

I just think that it doesn’t really matter either way. Me personally, I want Tyson Fury to be a roaring success, not at the expense of AJ but to create an era of British heavyweight boxing were we dominate.

Well if the conversation is about value then going by the gate pre fight isn’t the best indicator.

The reaction to the fight was huge.Look at the stars there and how well it was received both sides of the Atlantic.Any rematch will give a far different set of numbers and then we can compare fairly if your objective is to propose percentages for a future fight.

Thing is whilst I think your right fact is you don't have the numbers
    As they haven't released them
And as you say the gate seems suspect
    It's all guess work

Both promoters actions do indicate your correct but we will never know

Anyway I'd rather see Miller get the shot
Just simply down to the fact its a new fight
He don't deserve the pay day but so what
    I can't spend his earnings so I don't care

I'd do however want to see him beaten to a pulp

Whyte is just being a fool now
Putting himself as a genuine PPV fighter and rating himself higher than the Vitali
    Deluded indeed
Hearn has done fantastic job of assisting him rebuild and although I get guys have a short career and need to do what's best for them, he needs to realise no US promoter or ITV is gonna bring him more money or title shots

His gonna get banged out anyway

That's all fine, but if the conversation turns to 'Matchroom are under massive pressure/Hearn is terrified after the huge success of Wilder Fury/casual fans are fed up with Joshua' and so on, then people have the right to reply and suggest that all of the above doesn't seem quite as accurate as they may be told.

It’s good to have opposing opinions on a forum, it wouldn’t be much fun if we all agreed....but, the way you and Puroresu consistently jump to the defence of Hearn/AJ/Matchroom at any slight towards them gives the impression you’re in some way affiliated with them. If you are affiliated with them then fair do’s, that’s not a crime and you have every right to defend the people who provide you your wage. However, if you’re simply a fan of a corporate business then I just find that a bit odd. Support a football club, a fighter or whatever, but the business side involving the suits? Maybe it’s a social class thing, but unless i’m at a wedding, funeral, christening or whatever, when I deal with someone in a suit and tie, I just can’t be doing with them.

It's not a question of supporting the business side. It's more just debating what I think are basic, factual inaccuracies.

If the debate is 'are Matchroom terrified of the fact that Wilder and Fury are both now insanely popular and casual fans are sick of Joshua' then it's perfectly reasonable to say 'I don't think so and this is why.'

Just reading the latest Boxing News, Frank has said that Fury v Wilder generated a lot more money than Joshua v Povetkin and that the rematch is worth a lot more than the projected Fury v Joshua fight.

I know Fury is the much bigger name in the States but probably shows why Eddie is keen on getting Joshua out in the states.

You and the Jap Slapping fan can go on ignore, danke for the laughs though!

In two years time, when AJ is being pelted with rotten cabbages and eggs in the street, you'll be trolling and claiming that as it's Tesco produce he's inherently more valuable.

This clown and his twin-posting chums are just trolling folks, save yourself the energy.

Only seem's like yesterday where Eddie was saying "they don't need the states, we're the super power in Boxing now". Funny that.

Tony's love for MR is really weird. So defensive of any critical comment aimed at them.

Pretty sure he is "Fast Car", you can just hear his voice in Tony's replies!
