and make a lot of cash?I browse BoxRec and I see people with records like 51 wins and 4 losses or 45 wins and 6 losses, now im very new to boxing but to me this seems good dont it? So how come these people are not famous? is it becuase they only fought bums or becuase they are not exicting 1 -punch K0 fighters? if it is the latter then how come floyd mayweather is so famous? I take it that it has to do with money and politics is 80% of the job to get succefull? and maybe market yourself well? or once you get a lose / draw peple lose intrest? here are the examples i was looking at http://boxrec.com/en/boxer/7422 http://boxrec.com/en/boxer/5415
Floyd was one of the top 10 greatest fighters of all time but he had the talk also, he was money Mayweather, people hated him and he got attention, Ali did the same thing in the 60`s, fans would just show up to see him get knocked out and he was charming and handsome too, eventually he started becoming a funny guy also, George Foreman used this tactic in his interviews after fights during his 80`s-90`s comeback, when he made jokes about being bald and fat, peeople liked him he became a character compared to how aloof he was in the 70`s, you have to have charisma, but PPV has hurt the sport a lot, fights used to be frere and get tons more viewers.
That happen''s two a fair few Boxer's around da world depends who da organisation like .. In ameture boxing as well it happens . People would have to like that boxer as well , plus exposure on da TV ,fox ,main event . Boxer's charisma plays a big part of it . There's a lot more to it tho ..
well go on maybe you can help anyone wanting to get big (I want to become famous boxer and make mayweather type of money)
All you need is a decade or more of non-stop training from the time you're in elementary school, at least a hundred amateur fights, a manager who isn't corrupt, a good trainer, sponsors, a non-crazy girlfriend/baby mama, a promoter with connections in the sanctioning bodies, a juicy undefeated record (preferably more than 25 wins), and a higher than 75% knockout ratio. Outstanding natural athleticism is a major plus as well.
To make it in boxing you need skill, dedication, mental toughness, a good trainer/team.... but most importantly you need time from a young age to hone your craft and develop your abilities.
9/10 you gotta pay for your MRI & license. Then you have to pay for opponent. You have to have good people around you in boxing. This is like being a stuntman. I think you should fight AM. Find a job or go to college/trade school. Once you have a good paying job you can pay into your pro boxing career. Look at that Smith fella that fought B-Hop plenty other examples. A bin man once fought Klitschko, etc.
First off those aren't great records really. Second it completely depends who they are fighting. Klemetsen doesn't really have any great wins and he has some shocking losses like the knockout to a 6-4 Peter Oboh. Larsen was a solid contender and actually got some pretty big wins before he met Ottke but he lost that. With the alphabet belts it's very easy to win one of the lesser ones and spend years defending against mediocre mandatories rather than ever moving up whether in weight or class of opposition so some records are deceiving. Floyd became huge through a combination of factors including marketing, reputation as one of the top fighters, his persona was something people really wanted to root against, picking the right fights, etc. He also got major exposure from beating (obv some don't think he did) the PPV king before him in Oscar De La Hoya.
