I still have to laugh at the huggers who say that Floyd carried Conor. So untrue.

Hopefully this puts to bed that an MMA guy can't compete with a Boxer.

I enjoyed it. Both the buildup, and the result.

I know why Floyd got his way on every part of the pre fight negotiation making sure he holds all the cards but this fight should have always been fought using 4 oz gloves.
I give Floyd a lot of credit for his ability to make the money he does on his fights, making sure he gets a piece off everything including food and tickets but in having the control on every aspect of the fights he has also made sure in the last decade or so to take low risk fights that protect his unbeaten legacy.

Floyd NEVER fights the way he did in that fight. Do you think Floyd would fight like that if he fought a proper elite boxing welterweight of today. GTFO of here.

I didn't expect Conor to do anything to Floyd and be competitive and he wasn't. When Floyd stepped it up and walked him down from about rd 7 onwards he easily stopped Conor. Floyd toyed with him just like he did with Baldomir. Was Baldomir competitive because he went 12 rds with Floyd ? Of course not, Floyd made him look like a joke.

Also for someone who is considered a big hitter Conor's power looked pathetic in that fight. As usual his gas tank couldn't last even halfway through the fight.

    1) Floyd would never fight an elite WW, so that's neither here or there.
    2) Stepped it up? Are you for real? Floyd isn't some machine, you know. He is what he is: An ageing defensive fighter with a stupidly low output (and has been for ages) and came up against a young, orthodox southpaw who brings a different skill set in terms of stance/angles etc than his usual opponents do.

Floyd made him look like so much of a "joke" that he took 27+ minutes to get the job done.

It just kills Boxing fans that the so called "GOAT" can't get a guy out of there with a 0-0 record in seconds.

"Oh but Floyd carried him!" No, he never. Why would he?

It was a boxing match, boxing rules, people who like MMA were underestimating the gap between MMA punching skills and boxing skills, Conor said he could beat Floyd in a boxing match and he simply wasn`t good enough, he doesn`t even use jabs in his MMA fights and that`s one of tghe most important punches in the sport of boxing.

Floyd wasn`t known as the greatest puncher of all-time though, he`s known for his defensive skills, he hadn`t knocked out a fighter since 2009 when he stopped Hatton who would have destroyed McGregor because he was pressure fighter, his feet were faster than Conor`s and his body shots would have made Conor gas far quicker than Floyd`s did.

In an MMA rules match Conor would have destroyed Floyd, in the boxing ring no MMA fighter would have lasted long against te true greatest of all time, Ray Robinson he punched far harder than Floyd, Crawford is the best welter in the world now and he too punches far harder than Flooyd did and would destroy any MMA fighter easily in the ring.

He went 9 rounds with Floyd. 3/4 of the fight Conor lasted. Do you think Floyd would last 2/3 rounds or 4/5 rounds in MMA with Conor?

Crawford is not known as the best welter as of now. Why? He hasn't beaten the top boys yet.

Floyd is still the GOAT for MANY people. Conor, as a 0-0 Boxer, lasted THREE QUARTERS of a bout with Floyd.

Wrap your tiny head around that, please.

No way, if anything fans were saying Conor was the bigger puncher of the two before this bout and that Floyd better get on the backfoot to avoid Conor`s straight left, the hype for Conor`s power was through the roof, everybody said Floyd would box Conor`s ears off but that Conor had a punchers chance, they made Conor sound like Tommy Hearns before this, it was almost funny.

Crawford is much more of a destroyer and sharpshooter than Floyd was, look at his power compared to Manny`s in their respective bouts v Horn, Bud is a better finisher than anyone else at welter at this time and would have destroyed Conor with his eyes shut, Bud`s reach is good too, Conor benefitted from his two inch reach advantage, he`s very good at that he has a reach advantage over most of his MMA opponents, look at the Aldo fight the difference in reach was scary.

No, but there are a number of welters and light middles that would have stopped Conor in 2/3 rounds, they made his power sound like Tomy Hearns power in his prime and his punches were powder puff compared to a hard punching boxers, he couldn`t snap his shots at all.
