Cheeseman has some skills, but he thinks he could outman everyone. Both the Byfield fight and Carson Jones he outfought them, but took unnecessary punishment.

Tonight he came unstuck against a mover with excellent work-rate and output, who had a similiar style to Joe Calzagher, he was competitive in the first three rounds, and occasionally caught Garcia - but after round 3, he was utterly trounced. The tactics from round 8 onwards were horrendously irresponsible for his health. His trainers should have pulled him out.

The worrying thing is, like many said here, i don't think he improves, hasn't got the power, footspeed, handspeed or boxing brain to truly bother the top brass, or top Euro fighters. He'll end up as cannon fodder for the likes of Fowler.

I'd urge him to take a year out of the sport and rebuild slowly, work on the fundamentals of hit-and-not be hit, i'd even say he'd do better under Frank Warren as he would be more "protected" and less likely to end up as Matchroom fodder for American DAZN cards (James Tennyson, Gavin McDonnell, Callum Johnson, Rocky Fielding)

If he is serious about fighting after this, he needs to ensure he works on his footwork, defence, head movement to stand any chance of coming out of the game without long lasting damage.

Yeah, I don't like giving Cheeseman stick because he showed so much courage but he also displayed so much stupidity.

Also it makes me wonder what the hell the game plan was going in to the fight.

Looked and sounded like to me they just thought Cheeseman would grind Garcia down, walked him down, walk through him and force a stoppage.

The problem was evident early, very early, Garcia wasn't going to be bullied easily and yet they gave Cheeseman no good advice, they didn't help Cheeseman whatsoever, Sims basically told him after 10 rounds to go for it.

As I say, I wonder what they do in the gym to prepare for a fight like that because Cheeseman ran out of ideas after 2 rounds.

Long way back for Ted now, really long way.

Trainer change might help him, I'm not sure how much, but surely it can't get any worse for him, he just took a beating that will scar him for a while,

I don't see him coming back to anywhere near world class level. Very bad beating, I cracked a few jokes but now I feel bad for the guy, good fighter to watch and because of tonight, I don't think we'll see much more of him.

Would you say it's from Hearn burning the candle from both ends, stretching himself to thin whichever cliche you prefer, matchmaking or some other reason the cards have been ****? This is the first full show for any promotion I've watched in a few months and this was **** poor.

This Garcia chap is starting to remind me of a young slower, orthodox, Sexy Sergio Martinez with his style, body language & swag/showmanship.
