Hot take: Buddy McGirt has never been anything less than a very good (I'll rein up short of saying "great") trainer. He notoriously took a bunch of L's because he is a nice guy and took on lots of lost causes and guys that were hopelessly outmatched in terms of styles or level over the years.

As we speak, Kellerman is organising two call-girls and homeless dog to entrap Kov with triple assault and get him barred from the USA once and for all.

I don't know either of them personally or otherwise.

I've posted a few times that it's innocent until proven guilty.

Maybe he did do all the things he stands accused of.

Maybe she is a gold digger.

    Maybe there's something in between?

Due process. I can't stand this modern trend of a simple accusation being enough to destroy a persons life and career.

Let the court get to the bottom of it, if it goes to court.

In the meantime, let's see him fight Beterbiev!

i didnt like how his legs looked when he was put off balance, they didnt respond very well. i figured he was getting wobbled, but i guess hes just clumsy when not executing practiced movements. i still see some big holes in his defense that a better schooled boxer will also see. i dont think he remains champ for long.

Jesus Christ will these clowns STFU with this cliched bully crap. Kovalev is an excellent boxer and he, in Ward's own words ''did it the hard way'' ie. fighting on the road or in his opponent's backyard or country where everything was stacked against him and your chances of taking an L by hook or by crook are greatly increased. That takes a lot of mental fortitude to keep doing that.

Why the hell do you think many fighters don't do it, are very reluctant to, or flat out refuse to do so (hint hint), because they are keenly aware it greatly increases their chances of losing when they have to compete on a level playing field and they won't have their home country refs to let them fight to a set of rules they penned with their own hands or home judges to bail them out if the ref's efforts to help facilitate their path to victory wasn't enough.

Congrats to Sergey for proving the naysayers wrong. He was looking spent after the first 3 rounds but caught a second wind and never looked back.

I fell asleep after Teofimo Lopez and missed the entire fight! I wake up to this when I was sure that Alvarez would win big. I, and my life are a f***ing joke! Waah!

I never lost faith in Kovalev, and I for one was thrilled when I heard that he'd hooked up with Buddy. I knew was just what the Krusher needed, like I said, Phoenix from the ashes. That was truly a pleasure to watch and a thing of beauty.

Kovalev fought smart he didn't look great in the sense that if this was the first fight you'd have expected Kovalev to beat him easily. he did what he had to do. and this was a buddy kind of fight. kind of flat footed but boxing. not putting power on shots. but let's be a little harder on alvarez he landed the jab well but didn't try for it... body shots... but didn't stick to it... he tried so hard to get the knockout punch...

it did feel like an A- vs a B+ kind of fight though. I don't know if Kovalev is "back" nobody has said so but there's fights he can still win in the top 10. but not sure if he can beat the top 4
