No it wasn't bollocks at all, it was total, complete and utter bollocks, just to be clear. The money may have been there but, there was no information as to what the attachments to that 50 million were. It was in fact a fee to buy the rights to show the AJ /Wilder fight on a platform of their choosing and totally on Haymons, Finkels and Warrens terms. Like that was ever going to happen. And if it did , AJ would have been left out in the wilderness and labelled as a greedy assed fortune hunter ahead of any achievements he might ever attain to.
I agree with you to be honest. People are forgetting that AJ was offering Whyte a voluntary shot at his titles, as in AJ has everything to lose and Whyte everything to gain. AJ ultimately owes Whyte absolutely nothing at all, let alone the career high, life changing sum of money he would get, regardless of the result.
Whyte vs Whoever and then Crawford vs Khan on PPV then. Sky calling the shots and not Eddie I’d presume.
What’s your point? Literally one of the chief reasons for the big fights not happening is because Hearn barks about them before they are signed on IFL. Whyte even checked Hearn by telling him not to mention names like Ortiz and Povetkin for April 20 before anything is signed.
The point is Hearn doesn't tell Koogan or anyone else what they can and can't ask. I prefer that rather than a journalist be given a set of pre arranged questions. That's pointless. But hey whatever floats your boat.
Well that's funny because quite clearly the "superior race" incident was played down very quickly with little to no interrogation permitted by anyone on IFL after it was tamely dismissed as being a "hacking incident". Frankie boy has also repeatedly asked Kugan to intensify his line of questioning on the Stubhub relationship but it was only addressed in-depth in one sit-down and never picked up on again, despite many people including Frank pointing out the inconsistencies in Hearn's clarifications. I've said before that the main reason why Eddie Hearn entertains these interviews is to increase his own media profile because he's very egotistical and fame-hungry. Towards the end of that interview he even starts speculating about the hundreds of thousands of views the video will do on YouTube.
Yep in a sense Eddie gives his haters lots of ammo but as a bonus him and his fighters stay in the news non stop. It's a brilliant self promotion driven by hate but I think Eddie is ok with it because it costs him nothing, zero
That's a lot of words about a contradiction which isn't really a contradiction. Joshua is a massive profile, massive earning superstar. I'll repeat a point I've made a few times of late which people seem to hate but cannot deny; Joshua is the 25th richest athlete on the planet as per Forbes 2018 rich list. Canelo is above him. Golovkin below him. Obviously Wilder and Fury aren't even on the list. That, in a nutshell, is why he's entitled to that sort of money. Because he generates the money. Of course anyone beating a massively high profile fighter makes them a big name. It doesn't suddenly make them popular or, for that matter, someone who generates money.
The “Superior race” comments and Robert Muagbe endorsements by Joshua, i’m suprised Whyte or Miller haven’t mentioned it. If i was them, i would Mention them on IFL Interviews or any boxing related interviews when it comes to Joshua. Could be a easy way to get bigger % from him Those comments would hurt AJ’s/Matchroom/Sky’s brand. The AJ Riders on here never seem to talk about that incident. Especially TONY Hayers.
The superior race thing is a thing only the very thick or genuinely racist don't get. The Mugabe thing is probably because Joshua is, pretty evidently, a fairly thick bloke who was talking about something he didn't have a clue about.
@TonyHayers did actually provide a pathetic justification for those comments that were so self deprecating that I really think he’s one of these cuckold types who allows their wives to be drilled by black bulls.
It's not that no other heavyweights are popular or earn money. It's that Joshua is massive in comparison. Forbes top 25. Only Canelo above him. No boxers bar Golovkin in the list at all. Now, he might get beaten. But a Joshua who has lost still generates way more money than a Whyte who's beaten Joshua.
