What's her perseved worth got to do with getting paid on time and being treated with respect ?

 

I think Hearn is a fly man in ways but not when it comes to paying what's due, so personally I respect him much more than Frank.

 

My point was in response to the comment about her probably not making much money. Why would she be making a lot of money? There isn't really much of a market for women's boxing. It's like people complaining about top women footballers working day jobs while the men in the lower leagues still get thousands a week. The market decides your worth and that's that.

Lets put it this way, if someone put on an all women's card with Chantelle Cameron, Katie Taylor, Nicola Adams, Clarissa Shields etc, how well do you think it would do? Would you want to pay for it?

 

I was clearly saying she properly was not getting paid alot so late payment or non payment if wages would properly leave her skint. In no way did I criticise fact she would have not been getting paid much per fight just fact that what she is due should be paid on time. Now if AJ got a purse a few weeks or months late it would not be as bad but for 99% of fighters who only get 3 or 4 figures per fight its especially not on.

 

Absolutely. It's all very weird.

Warren has put on the worst PPV fights in the history of this country, stiffs fighters on pay, allows top class fighters to fester for years facing garbage and people go on about him like he's some sort of saint. Very strange.

I'm all for competition, but not to the extent that I'm glad to see a guy who's repeatedly dissolved companies to avoid paying people who put their lives on the line back in the game.

I assume there are payment terms in the contract? If they’re not paying within those terms then they’re breaching the contract and it should be a fairly straightforward case...

 

That is only part of the financial skullduggery involved

i honestly, still, cant understand the fall out with frampton - whatever happened.
always took barry mcguigan for an intelligent man.....the whole cyclone promotions was built on frampton, he was their flag, even if they lost money with him, so be it, as they were building a business on which he was the foundation.....whatever it took, keep him happy...money would be made later with cyclone promotions established.
i just dont understand it.

There was a thread on here not too long ago about certain promoters demanding x amount and management contracts as well as training fees. I think Booth and Gallagher were getting the blame but we never got to the bottom of it. Now I’m starting to think was it the mcguigans?
