Two of the most epic tale's of pugilistic redemption in recent years... Comeback Fury getting up in the 12th round in what looked like a huge come from behind win for Wilder was one of the most inspirational moments I've seen in a ring for years & Sergey Kovalev putting on a boxing clinic against Alvarez when people were saying stick a fork in him he's done!

Both men have been to the brink & come back, attempted suicide or thereabouts, alcohol problems etc.. Two hugely flawed & troubled men who refocused, found a new trainer & just gave us two amazing boxing stories #RESPECT

    Which inspired you more?

Fury .did. To me Kovalev just got caught by a lucky punch by a guy who is overrated (Alvarez). Simple as that. The guy (Alvarez) is really nothing special in my eyes. So Kovalevs Victory over him really isn't all that to me I did choose Kovalev to win after all . Now fury came back from a 2 year layoff over 400 pounds many thought he was gonna get flattened he came to us and embarrassed Wilder silly not only that he got back up from two knockdowns

I think Alvarez is a top 5 LHW still. Stevenson never fancied it...

Rarely does the well beaten older fighter over turn the result in such emphatic fashion especially with all the outside distractions & adjusting to a new team...

Alvarez will come again... Strong fighter, sharp accurate puncher. Athletic...

Though I think overall Fury schooling Wilder gets me more deep down & TO DIS DAY

That's what they say about Alvarez. They said the same thing about Buster Douglas when he beat Tyson . "Top heavyweight" then he got knocked out by holyfield and never heard back from him. So in theory. If Alvarez loses to Bivol beterbiev and Gvozdyk he gets outboxed or gets knocked out. We have to ask was it just a lucky punch ?

Never say die. Never ever, ever, ever ever, ever quit. Do not go gently into that good night. Want to see both men continue down this road. Fury is the bigger surprise, for me. A warrior must have the will to continue in the face of every adversity. that is why so many of us admire the "go out on your shield" mentality. An old saying "defeat has taught me anything is possible." Well, I say defeat never visits anyone that does not surrender. That is for life in and out of the ring. An old story from long ago (true). There was a kid that liked to fight. He was a bully. Unlike most bullies he could really fight. He loved it and was good at it. There was another kid that he liked to fight and beat regularly. It was like bad weather. He would be bored and then he would look for this kid to fight. He always beat him, and badly. The kid always fought back valiantly and never showed fear. He took his lumps and never avoided a showdown with the better fighter.
One day the bully was bored and went out and found his favorite target. the fight began as usual with Danny taking his beating and trying his best. as usual, he would get a shot in on the bully. the fight continued on. then he got a couple of shots in, then a couple more....then few more. the tide turned slowly and he appeared to be winning. we were not sure. then after a while we were sure. Danny beat the living hell out of this bully. a beating that left the kid riding in an ambulance to the hospital.. The bully lived. He lost the fight horribly. a terrible vicious beating. the kind he would never forget. He never went looking for Danny to fight again. It only took one ass whipping for the bully to give up and never try again. A moral to take from it. Never ever, ever, ever quit, never give up. Not many people are willing to die to win. Even a better fighter doesn't like being taken to that place. Defeat is an internal mind set....don't let it live in you, in your life.

Well losing to any of those isn't really a shameful thing.. However, as of now he's only lost to Kova. Stevenson ducked him too. If his career plummets badly then sure we can agree he may have been 'overrated'.. Time will tell. I'm not saying he's a master boxer or anything but he's definitely world class IMO Elite? No. Style wise he'll be a handful for a lot of them.

I just don't think he's world class the only way to know is to see if he gets back

Also losing to those isn't a shameful thing. But it means however that he wasn't world class elite. If we are gonna count Alvarez world class over one Kovalev win and he loses to others . Then we have to label Buster Douglas world class of his time as well

Fury as Kovalev just got beat whereas Fury been away for two years although I have to say if his sabbatical was imposed on account of him testing dirty as the hearing just kept on dragging on.

World class & elite I class as different. Sort of Silver to Gold... I think he's world class yes as of now.

24-1 beat Kova, Chilemba, Pascal, Bute etc Sharp accurate puncher, athletic..

I don't see him as fringe level that's for sure. There's a reason Stevenson never fancied it, he'd have lost.. Stevenson was for a long period world class but dined out too much on his bum run in Canada..
