You'd never think Barry McGuigan was a greedy, disastrous manager but he's proved to be. Also had a big financial fallout towards the end of his carrer with Barney Eastwood. Too many financial fallout's now to blame anyone but himself!
These are the worst types of assholes. Being a former fighter, knowing what a fighter goes through to earn his money and then still try and shaft one. Staggeringly greedy.
I'm Barry mcguigans number one fan for sure. I still reject the haters who for some weird reason never miss an opportunity to knock Barry. But Shane does seem to be a problem. Looks like he needs to seriously improve his "people skills"....
Can I totally understand you're angry. I've great time for chantelle too. Very disappointed about her. For years people have been knocking Barry mcguigan....but you never hear any facts to back up the backstabbing... But he's always seemed fine to me and comes across as a very fair guy. That's how I feel anyway.
In fairness to Barry he is in a very tricky position. Trying to juggle running a business, dealing with family and dealing with boxers too. Any one of those things has proven too much for many a good man
It's sad to see this happening with Cyclone tbh, as an ex fighter I would have thought that the fighters best interests would be high up on his list of things to do properly. He know how hard the professional game is and having someone with his experience should make him the go to manager for any aspiring boxer but in reality it hasn't happened for one way or another. I get he has to play devil's advocate because of his families involvement but in business terms both parts should be separated, when he is dealing with Shane on the boxers it shouldn't matter that he is his son it should be the boxers best interests he holds as their manager. If they cannot distinguish the difference between their family relationships and business decisions then that could be the undoing of Cyclone in the long term. Hopefully Chantelle and Barry/Shane/Cyclone can get this sorted asap so that both parties can move on and get on with their respective jobs. I just hope this isn't going to affect Josh Taylor and Lee McGregor moving forward.
Cameron has to make a choice whether or not she wants the Taylor fight in the short term- if so sign with Hearn on a three fight deal. If not, maybe the PBC is a viable option given their regular dates and decent UK TV coverage. If Cyclone does fold I can see Josh Taylor being the subject of a massive bidding war between promoters. Channel 5 would likely do another deal with Mick and probably the Sanigars to keep boxing going on the channel.
the issue I have here is that if you read the posts in this thread a lot of posters. ..a disappointingly large number actually... Have NOT waited for what comes out in court . ..they're putting the boot in on Barry with great gusto before hearing any facts... .very nasty and unfair to Barry in my opinion .
