You Tube says either the 1st or the 8th of June.I'm thinking of going then flying down to the DR for a couple of weeks.
I don't see AJ outworking Miller he has a very high workrate. The question for me is, with his porous defence can Miller take Joshua's power?
I’ll stop moaning and give him a pass. I just found it frustrating that it took 5 months to announce his next fight in which we’ve now gotta wait another 4 months for.
I think AJ had his part to play in the fight not being made with Wilder last summer. They faffed around, ‘we want it in the U.K., well we want it in the USA’ etc etc. That fight could have been made in my opinion.
I think it’s ridiculous too. Couldn’t agree more. Not just him but many others. This 2 fight a year thing is a disgrace.
AJ is the cash cow with 4 of the belts, he would make a lot more fighting Wilder in the UK, why should he bow to Wilders demands? Wilder wants no part of AJ, he only took Fury because he thought he would be an easy touch.
Thing is, it's very hard to determine whats really going on in negotiations. One promoter says one thing then the other promoter says another thing. What I've found it's very rarely the fighters won't fight each other, it's the promoters who stall the fights, for whatever the reason they believe seems necessary. It will always boil down to money though. I'm happy with the Miller fight. There's not many options for A.J atm.
I’ve just had a look and you’re right to be honest. The likes of Bruno, Tyson, Lewis were typically twice a year. Just doesn’t seem an awful lot.
fighters at the top shouldn't be fighting more than 3 times a year imo. When your up at the top level the camps take a lot out of you. Its not just getting ready for a fight, training wise, it also involves a lot of promotional work and social commitments, (charity work etc). Also things like interviews. Add into that things like usually the fighters are young men at the age when marriage and starting familys are now on your doorstep. It all takes its toll.
Someone on here was saying the other day that Joshua should be fighting 3-5 times a year if he's fighting the likes of Miller. 5 fights a year is a joke, and I asked to name anyone who had got near. Tyson, for a couple of years, in the late 80's, averaged three fights a year. But that's it.
Don't think I can have any issues with this fight. A combination of Warren's stubbornness to work with Hearn, Wilder's outrageous demands and the WBC calling for an immediate Wilder v Fury rematch, means there's not many options out there for AJ right now. Parker? Already beat. Povetkin? Already beat. Whyte? Already beat. Yes, it could have been AJ v Whyte II, but Whyte needs to stop thinking he's some money-making machine just because he's headlined a bill against Parker and Chisora - take the money offered, KO AJ if you're that confident, and then you're in dreamland. Instead, his greed and ego have ruined that for him. That leaves Ortiz, Pulev & Miller. One is 50 years old, brings absolutely nothing to the table and who's best win is Bryant Jennings. One would be a terrible matchup to introduce AJ into the US market. The third is the US' #2 ranked HW who has been very vocal when talking about AJ (and his family). This is AJ's first voluntary in over 2 years I think - they've all been mandatory or unifications. I think he's earned a pass for this one.
