In what way ? A fearless champion who fought everyone ? . A champion that was the pride of Puerto Rico ? Let me know your thoughts
No way was he fearless! He absolutely ducked Golovkin. There is an interview with Cotto, and he is in the ring, and the reporter mentions GGG as the final subject because Cotto wouldn't face GGG. Guess what Miguel does? He walks off without answering the guy's questions. Great to watch, don't get me wrong, and I REALLY loved seeing him get his revenge over Margarito in the rematch. But Cotto was very cunning above 147. Picked a cripple, and let's say how it is, in Sergio, and flat-out ducked GGG.
Very, very good fighter, but not a great one. Always thought he was lacking in ring IQ and was susceptible to losing heart towards the end of fights. After seeing him come perilously close to blowing the Mosley fight in late 2007, I picked Margarito to eventually walk him down and wear him out when they met in 2008, so unlike many others I wasn't surprised by the result. Although of course, we now know that there's a distinctly fishy smell about that one. But regardless of that, Pacquiao rubber-stamped that opinion a year or so later. Certainly enjoyed a lot of his fights, and he gave Mayweather a much sterner examination than I was expecting. I don't think he was anything particularly special post-2009, but he regrouped well from the aforementioned setbacks and deserves to be remembered fondly in general. I just can't agree when people place him as an all-time great, that's all.
Ok good. So cotto and Martinez ducked GGG who were both 35 or older at the time . You criticize them but GGG who is 36 years old and ducking Charlo you give him a pass ?
You also can't say "what has Charlo done". Because at the time cotto and Martinez were champion. GGG had not done anything as well @Brixton Bomber
Yea I don't like how he picked off Martinez at the last minute . Martinez all damaged and **** everytime cotto lost he walked off like a butthurt punk
Why go away. That is a question with logical sense you're just showing fanboyism and no facts. Can you find a counter argument ?
Exceptional fighter, about as good as you can be without being great. He'll be in the HOF eventually and it will be well-deserved.
