I think the opposite lol, but I never thought much of either one of them. I just started thinking they were similar in size and after looking at the Wlad vs Lyle thread I started wondering how much different that would look than Wlad vs Peter and how Peter vs Lyle might go. Thanks for your response, you got a feel for whether you see a stoppage or a decision?
Apart from beating a past prime Ellis and Bonavena I never understood what Lyle did to be considered such a good contender for his era. He looks pretty good on film and I suppose he did knock Foreman down, but I don't consider that any better than giving Klitschko, undoubtedly the best heavyweight of his generation all he could handle for 12 rounds, or putting together a couple of nice wins together against some solid opponents. The main difference I see is that Lyle fought more often and beat guys that didn't necessarily matter in the grand scheme of things, which pretty much be put down to the eras they fought in.
I just picture Peter getting Lyle out of there in round 6 or so! I think Lyle would land some decent shots in the first 2-3 rounds and they would be pretty competitive and fun, but Peter would take over wear him down and stop him in the mid rounds
I can relate to this, I guess Lyle gets discredited to an extent in a prime vs prime matchup, as he consistently showed up in better shape than Peter
I never saw Peters do much I liked, I mean he hit hard but couldn't knockout a waddling fat middleweight named Toney. Lyle stops him late or takes a UD.
I am not a Peter fan so I don’t really dispute this...but then again I am not a Lyle fan either...who outside of the granite chinned acorn did Lyle KO
Lyle busier and that wins him the decision. Wouldn't be surprised to ssee a KO either way. Peter a disappointing underachiever.
