The numbers obviously add up. Or DAZN are taking a gamble and hoping they do anyway.

They’re getting a lot of stick for this on social media, so definitely couldn’t have been held in the UK.

I'm not sure NY will host the Fury fight, if it does I reckon it will be at the Barclays Centre which holds about 18,500,I was there for the Frampton v Santa Cruz fight.I wouldn't be surprised if Vegas ends up with the rematch. I won't firm up my arrangements until I'm pretty sure what's happening.

Since the beginning of 2016 Wilder has had 6 defences.
Joshua 7 and Joshua's calibre of opponents shits all over Wilder's!
Fury has had 3 fights in the last 3 years.

We are at the start of February, why all the way in June???

The fight with Miller isn’t big enough imo

Will AJ only fight twice this year then?

Miller is top ten ranked.Joshua has beaten Parker,Povetkin, Whyte,Breazeale, all in the top ten.
How many heavyweight champions defended more than twice a year?

Yes he'll probably only fight twice this year. Same as last year. And the year before. In fact, the same as most high profile, world champions actually.

Take a look at most of the biggest names in boxing, most of them fight twice a year. The ones that fight 3+ times a year are a rarity.

With AJ out of any other realistic options, Miller’s team must be really pumping the life out Eddie on the negotiating table.

Why doesn't Joshua fight Ortiz? He is a much bigger name than Miller in the States.

Would exponentially increase his US exposure. Miller is a nobody.

Except he's fighting more often than both of them.

I don’t think Miller has done enough to warrant this fight against AJ.

    Who has he beaten?

Old man Adamek, an overly hyped Dinu and went 12 rounds with Duhaupas who wilder and povetkin both stopped.

It’s not like he’s beaten anyone in the uk so for all we know nobody knows him over here. I think this fight would be a hard sell in the uk but for it to be stateside at stupid o’clock seems worse to me, is miller even known over there??? If Hearn was walking asking the public if they knew who wilder was surely miller is even lesser known?

I won’t be getting up at 3am to watch AJ crush fat boy miller in 5 rounds, no thanks.

    Rant over

He's possibly the best available option who Joshua hasn't beaten.

Said a million times but I don't get the hate. Wlad defended against Leapai and Pianeta. Vitali against Sosnowski and Charr. Lewis against Mavrovic. Haye against Harrison. In the last decade or two Ed Mahone, Peter Okhello and Owen Beck have fought for the heavyweight title. Yet for some reason people are seemingly bursting into tears about Miller getting a crack.

Because there are better options out there and also to finally have a big fight stateside against miller? Really?

Joshua v miller then pulev then whyte, that’s his next three fights there is no sign of fury or wilder anywhere until late 2020, that’s If they all stay undefeated with wilder and fury fighting some ones 0 has got to go, joshua will make his money with mandatory defences and stay away from wbc belt and blame the other side rather than give them the money they ask for

Ortiz was stopped by Wilder, so there's little to be gained for AJ in beating him. He's high risk, low reward and most importantly, he doesn't fulfill the marketing requirements.

As a massive, fast talking American, Miller is a much easier sell to a casual audience than an old Cuban guy with no English. He's going to spend the next few months grabbing headlines, getting up AJ's nose and helping to sell the fight.

Whereas Ortiz, classy though he is in the ring, doesn't have much to offer in building the fight outside it. He may bring a Spanish speaking following, but DAZN have spent $300m on Canelo and GBP to cover that market.
