Spot on, as a boxing fan or even sport fan subscribing to sky you are getting your pants pulled down, the content is getting weaker by the event and they are a sinking ship. The Wilder v Ortiz card was the last time they had a decent show on that they weren't fleecing a PPV fee off you for in addition to their exorbitant monthly subscription cost.
Netflix and youtube is all you need as is way better value, amazon will soon start to take over live sports via streaming online. Let sky and that scumbag Murdoch rot.

99% agree. This is why I laugh when people pull out the line 'british boxing has never been so good'
It's absoulute bollocks from a fans point of view. The shows we have on a regular basis are pretty much what you can get at small hall shows week in week out for decades. Obviously exceptions to the rules but too few and far bewtween

Adam Smith is overstepping the mark, he is taking liberties in my opinion.

If he thought sticking Buatsi on that card would make it OK then he needs to give his head a wobble. It still would have been poor because the Buatsi opponent would have been poor, Buatsi is a novice, it would have been a keep busy fight at absolute best.

Adam Smith can ask for better cards, I agree, we want better fights but he shouldn't be match making or insisting certain fighters are on cards.

Fighters have programs, have camps, have schedules and Adam Smith can't start demanding or insisting he gets a say on what Individuals should be on what.

Adam Smith should be asking for British title fights, competitive fights, entertaining fights (on paper) and not Buatsi smashing an "opponent" and that's what the problem is at Sky.

It's more about backside kissing Sky's favourites and show casing them and having a love in instead of giving the fans entertainment and genuine competitive fights.

Matchroom FC and indeed a different breed.

Just look at the state of the comments on Hearns latest IFL interview pure weirdos who'd defend him even if he burnt down an orphanage, unreal.

The Liverpool show is fine to be honest. They’re trying to make Callum in to a global superstar so I understand that potential move.

But again it’s no different to what Warren has been doing. He had a show in Brentwood, Yardes home town? That was struggling. Instead of putting Yarde on that show he dragged him over to the states to put him on a non televised slot against no opponent which ended up getting pulled anyway. At least Smith is going over to co headline.

Again, let’s have some consistency. All the Warren fan club are quick to criticise Hearn for doing things but forget Warren does the same! At least Hearn has the more expansive stable to help it.

That's a great spot actually, yeah he says lot a lot these days, I have no idea when Adam Smith turned in to a full time promoter.

I understand he has to sell Sky Boxing, that's part of his job but I think it's all gone to his head, he has been given full access to all these matchroom fighters, he gets his little interviews on IFL and Boxing Social like he is a promoter or a huge player behind the scenes, he is all pally with the fighters backstage, behind the scenes and is now "friends" with them all.

To be honest there isn't a problem with that to an extent but when commentating I believe he should remain completely impartial and just call the fight but he fails to do so time and time again and it reflects in his bias commentary and Team Sky's sometimes ridiculous scorecards.

I still haven't forgot Adams relentless advertising of "The Coyle Family Fruit and Veg Stall in Hull", he must have a business interest in that stall LOL.

Is this true? I can see how Brook might be better off because he has american fighters like Jessie Vargas to fight...
Haven't heard any word on Smith fighting on a DAZN card?

POSSIBLY “co headlining” a card with Usyk in May.

He probably see it like Netflix style deal for DAZN in the future, i do think we are still a good ten years away from the point that the majority will stream boxing, remember a lot of boxing fans who watch it on tv are older and less likely to stream.

Adam Smith wanted Khan on sky and basically forced Eddie hand to get him on Sky as he is a massive Khan fan,

then Khan goes and fights Crawford instead of Brook.

    Adam Smith should pipe down.

I doubt Sky care to be honest. They make their money from boxing via AJ being a PPV phenomenon. The sport at the absolute top of the pile by a million miles is football and they've still got the vast majority of that.

I agree in the long term the way we watch sport will change to streaming services, and I doubt it will be too long until it happens. Indeed, many people largely watch TV in that way now, with the likes of Netflix, Prime, Sky Go, the various catch up functions and so on. Sport largely stands out as it's still a 'you need to be in front of the screen at a certain time' programme rather than something more akin to a normal show which you can just watch when you're ready to, and it probably won't have the result spoiled in the same way as trying to avoid the result of a match.
