The push for the American market is both an obvious one, and a fairly safe one at the moment. People saying 'the American market has a lot more earning potential than the UK market' seem to have missed just how obvious that statement is. You won't surprise anyone by suggesting a country of 325m where PPV's go for sixty quid can earn you more than a country with 60m people where the same product sells for a third of the price. But, the idea that you have to go to America to earn the big money is also something of a misnomer in today's market. Why? Because as people seem to hate having pointed out, Joshua, who has only ever fought in the UK, is the second richest boxer active on the face of the planet, and the 25th richest athlete in the world. Only Canelo is above him in active boxers, and only Golovkin made the top 100. Wilder is absolutely nowhere, despite being an undefeated, American world champion who only fights in America. In short, there's a very, very valuable safety net. If it works, and AJ somehow resurrects heavyweight boxing to levels seen when Lewis was fighting, I guess he'll stay. Why wouldn't he? But it's pretty clear that this supposed resurrection hasn't happened thanks to Wilder and Fury. That can be seen as clear as day in their sales, and, relative to Joshua, significantly lower earnings.
Miller is ranked in the top 10 by just about every ranking body, why are you calling him a bum? Klitschko got stick for defending against unranked patsies. AJ is defending against top ten ranked contenders! You're making very free with the insults ,but actually you are the one not making any logical sense here! Joshua did not expect to be defending against Miller, Whyte was the intended opponent, and nobody thought Wilder and Fury would fight a draw thus necessitating a re- match. You're the one talking bollocks here, as you have all through this particular thread! for the record ,I have no particular liking for Joshua, but your bias is so extreme it is making you look absurd! NB Miller is Box Rec no 6 Ring no 9 WBA no 3 WBO no 3 IBO no 4 Joshua has already beaten; 4 of Box rec's top 10 3 of Ring's top 10 4 of WBC's top 10 4 of IBO's top 10
I think a reasonable schedule would look like this. Feb (Indoor Stadium like Cardiff) Short Break to mid March. July (Outdoor Stadium home or Arena abroad) Short Break to mid August. Dec (Indoor Stadium home or Arena abroad) Rest Period - holidays, family time, etc. June (Outdoor Stadium fight) Short Break to mid July. Nov/Dec (As previous Dec). I really don't see how this couldn't be a viable timetable. 5 defences in 2 years against credible opposition would be accepted by those who are reasonable.
Yup Wlad fought 3 times in2008 and one of them was even top ten ranked !Chagaev of the other 2 Thompson was unranked and 36 years old.Rahman was unranked and also36 . 2012Wlad fought unranked Wach, unranked Thompson now 40 years old ,and unranked Mormeck also 40 years old .Never mind the quality feel the width!lol
Yeah he fought Gomez 36 years old and no 8, Arreola unranked and Johnson unranked! Whoop de ****ing doo!
Thing is Wlad was not a ppv fighter for most, he didn't have to sell ppv like Joshua. Fixed 3m a fight from rtl. And Thomson was a mando second time,.unranked my ass.
Wlad wasn't a ppv fighter because he was as boring as **** and fought a long line of nobodies, that is why US TV wanted no part of him! Thompson was 40 years old. I am using the RING's rankings not the corrupt ones that enabled Wlad and Vitali to defend against a long procession of patsies! Thompson never beat a fighter who was ranked in the top ten by the Ring when he fought him!
Joshua would not be a ppv fighter if he did not have a Brit passport you idiot. He'd be making buttons
He's a PPV fighter because he fights top ten ranked opponents ,and beats them decisively and entertainingly,a point that appears to have escaped you! In your previous post you ended with the line, "my arse".I now realise you were simply referring to where your comment came from!
