He isn't even the toughest guy in his era....

Ruslan Provodnikov takes shots for fun and comes back for more, I have never seen that bloke take a backward step ever

If I was in a street fight I'd always choose heavyweights.

Golovkin could meet you in a back alley and kick your butt and anyone defending you.

Why do you make such assumptions?

I’m sure many people on here fit that description, but for all you know people on this forum could be boxers, street fighters, army etc.

I was in the Royal Marines myself 11 years ago. Not that that qualifies me to judge fighters but I’m not a fat Cheeto eating guy like your stereotypical view assumes.

Gene Fullmer was desribed in a list in the Ring magazine once as the poster boy for toughness but would GGG have been able to take the iconic hook that knocked Fullmer out in his rematch v Ray Robinson? GGG rides a lot shots also.

How many times did he have to probe his toughness? He was mostly vastly more skilled than his opponents.
George Foreman took some serious beatings in his 40s and barely flinched. Now that is one thought mofo who got to prove it.

Golovkin is clearly thought, but he never really had to prove it too much. That is the point.

GGG's reign was not during an era of ATG's but
apparently he was never knocked down in his 350ish amatuer fights either.
Watching some of the slo-mo highlights of GGG-Canelo 2 the thing that amazed me was how quickly his eyes refocused after taking a big upper cut or hook. It's a f***ing micro second before his eyes are back on his opponent.

    v true well said.

although i'd not assume a cheeto eater couldnt make a royal marine and vice versa too, given a few years.
