This is the crux of it for me. People get so focussed on Haymon having the money that they miss obvious issues like the TV rights.
Joshua's promoter did an interview where he'd said he'd checked it out and it was legit. What do you know that Joshua's promoter didn't?
Barry also confirmed the 50m was real, Look at it from a different perspective - AJ makes a vid which in retrospect was incredibly stupid of him, Deontays team see a chance to get free publicity and rasing Deontays profile by putting a offer that no way he can accept - No doubt the money was real but also doesn't hide the fact that they knew AJ couldn't accept it hence no contract as they didn't want a sky event which AJ is tied too.
Not sure why im quoting this tbh, AJ has a exclusivity deal with sky not only Matchroom go look it up.
I sound like a broken record but again if Wilder team was serious then why never deliver a contract? If you was a businessman who was involved in multi million pound deals then would you just accept an email or would you make sure it's real by getting the other party to sign a document? C'mon don't let your hatred for AJ/Matchroom affect your common sense!
Another loss making event for Dazn. Joshua-Miller does awful numbers in the States. How many new $10 subscribers would you need to cover their purses? Not long till they pull out of Boxing, or introduce PPV events.
He was offered less than 20% for the fight so he hopes that he will soon be mandatory and doesn't have to sign rematch clauses.
The last offer to Whyte was a confirmed £6000,000, as just another top ten ranked challenger, why is he worth more than that?
It makes sense to wait for a mandatory and get a better purse split/rematch deal. £6m from a potential £40m (as stated by AJ’s team estimation of what the fight could make) isn’t a great deal.
Erm yeah he does... if he wins he should get the lions share. It is quite simple... reverse the splits... if AJ isn't worried then why not... he is getting a lot either way and it takes two to tango. He is worth a percentage, not an out-of-context, fluffy number.
We'll he's a "PPV star in his own right" according to Eddie Hearn. The only one he has outside of Joshua. So why isn't he offering his other "PPV star" a percentage if he's of such high value?
Voluntary defense is not the deciding factor for a purse split. Whyte is a high value prize fighter in the UK, and he commands a reasonable share of the profits generated by the fight, more so than Takam or Povetkin, and around the same as Parker. This is reasonable, and the figures stated do not reflect a reasonable split. But this isn't the only issue... AJ wants a large split in a rematch clause, if Whyte wins which is highly unreasonable. If AJ doesn't want this money fight then so be it. He has made an unreasonable offer and if I was Whyte I certainly wouldn't roll over like a dog for chump change knowing what's on the table and who I am. Wilder and Fury feel the same disgust AJ and his unreasonable terms, and they are aren't even reasonable themselves!!! Whyte is getting the shortest stick in the offers made, and he just wants honest, fair terms. If you like getting ****ed over in business deals and selling yourself short just to make a nice pay day.... then that's you. I always get my money's worth and I don't back down. It served me well personally as I don't have to stress about how much I lost out on. There are other routes, and if he can get a Mando for less money offered but no rematch clause then so be it. No hard feelings if he loses, and if he wins... HE can dictate what AJ is getting... even if it's 5 per cent... just for revenge. I reckon 67.5 / 32.5 purse splits for AJ first fight, then reverse the split for a rematch clause and get the fight done. AJ still gets double whyte in a high profile fight... and he seems confident there won't be a rematch clause anyway.
