I love how people are now suggesting that Joshua couldn't sign any agreement because of his exclusive Sky deal... Just conveniently ignoring the fact that Joshua also signed a deal with Wembley to have his NEXT TWO FIGHTS at Wembley... Which is now going to be scrapped so he can box Miller in the US... There are always ways around these deals. There are conditions and caveats in every contract. Get it drilled into your heads. The $50m offer was legit. This has been confirmed by the two men in charge of Matchroom ffs yet posters on a boxing forum are saying otherwise.
My biggest doubt comes from the fact that Wilder has never grossed close to 50 million in any fight so how exactly do you pay Joshua 50 million without making a loss of tens of millions of pounds after you've paid for everything else as well ? I personally think the whole thing is jackanory to make fights bigger in the future with the be coming from all parties.
And latest "hood" photo he's out on social media is a total embarrassment. He's fake as hell and I literally can't stand him now, hope the fat Yank beats him just for that photo
It might make sense if he wins ,if he loses then he is right back where he started.Six million and a chance at the title is a good deal because if he won he would then be in the driving seat, and in a position to demand what he wanted. As things stand he is only one of the contenders and as such doesn't warrant a bigger split. As just a challenger, and one whom AJ has already stopped, he isn't worth a percentage of anything! He isn't a mandatory and he is taking a big risk going elsewhere for less money, because ,should he lose his chance with AJ will be dead in the water.I think he has an inflated sense of his own worth.
[ He is a challenger, but he isnt just any challenger. And it is the opponent's profile that influences revenues and purse splits. This is how boxing business and negotiations work. Whyte is a high profile, bankable boxing star in the UK with a string of PPV success and a highlight KO reel to his name, he brings tremendous value over Miller, Takam, Parker or Povetkin. And I fail to see why you saw the need to bring up Whyte's loss to AJ? That has absolutely no bearing on this conversation or topic as it was 4 years and 9 fights ago. Whyte, quite simply, is not the same person whatsoever, as he has developed a hell of a lot. He has peaked. Whyte has shown more balls and integrity in rematching Chisora on fair terms, he did not need that fight AT ALL. And it risked everything he built over the past 4 years to get a shot at Joshua. He offered Chisora a reverse split in a rematch clause if Chisora won. Something AJ didn't want to do for Whyte. So Whyte in fact has more class, in that he is offering the fans a fight they asked for, despite the risk, and still offered reasonable terms to Chisora who desperately wanted the fight. As Wilder and Fury are tied up somewhat indefinitely, the fans wanted Whyte as 3rd Option. Looks like AJ has failed to deliver to the fans, and to the fighters by being unreasonable and greedy.
Yeah but he won it officially, and believed he won it in his head. So he didn't have to put any Ghost to bed... achievement unlocked... thank you sir.
Whyte is a top ten challenger nothing more and nothing less. His CV consists of 2 life and death fights with Chisora ,a fringe contender at best ,a blow out of a seriously overated fat untrained Brown whose own resume is shite,an underwhelming win over a past it Helenius, and a life and death win over Parker whom AJ had already exposed. At the present time Whyte has defeated precisely one top ten ranked contender ,Joseph Parker number 8. Whyte had improved ? Certainly he has. Hasn't Joshua?lol AJ hasn't failed to deliver anything, he is the champion and as champion dictates the terms ,Whyte thought 6 million quid was not enough for him to take for a shot at the title ,though that is more than 5 million more than he has ever received for a fight. He believes that by passing it up and beating another opponent he will be in a stronger position when he sits down at the bargaining table with AJ,the opponent he has mentioned is Breazeale whom AJ beat the **** out of in his 17th fight! AJ v Whyte would be a good scrap but I see no basis for thinking Whyte would reverse the result and therefore I would prefer AJ to fight a top ten ranked contender he hasn't already stopped. Pulev has already bottled out of a challenge to AJ and Ortiz does not make financial sense in the US,Whyte has declined to take the fight which leaves only Miller as a viable opponent at this time. Personally I would rather have seen AJ take on Ortiz than a rehash with Whyte.
LOL ... the Parker that AJ exposed... yeah Same way Takam exposed AJ yeah? The same Takam that got knocked out by fringe contender Chisora LMAO So Chisora is fringe... what does that make Takam??? The Takam that AJ went life and death with and premature referee stoppage. Dillian also dropped Parker, AJ could not achieve that. Whyte ain't top ten... not even top 5... he is top 4. Facts. Hey if AJ wants to price himself out of a Fury, Whyte and Wilder fight... good luck to him.. then we can so who is REALLY fighting bums. How about that?
AJ went life and death with Takam? AJ won every round and dropped him. The only fighters to give AJ a competitve fight and win more than 1 round against him is wlad, Parker and Povetkin.
What round did AJ drop Takam? It was a premature stoppage, we all know this. Yeah Takam lost I agree. But Chisora KO'd him nice and clean. AJ was unable...yet he landed every punch in his dictionary.
Fourth round AJ knockdown Takam. In the end it was premature stoppage but similar to Froch and Groves first fight it was only seconds away before Takam was going knockdown again.
