I think Smith has the ring IQ and skills to make his size count. Being big alone doesn’t mean anything if you don’t have the skill to keep a smaller man away, as seen with Rocky against Canelo. I think Smith would get a decision win as Saunders would struggle to get in on the inside, he’s a slick counter puncher but Smith uses his reach so well and i’m not sure he would allow BJS to be busy enough.

I don’t think he’s got the physique to boil himself down to 154. He hasn’t got a naturally skinny frame. He’s 5”11 as well, I think he’s knocking on the door on 168. He’s nearly 30, lads start filling out then.

Tbf I didn't realise he was 5'11 always though a bit shorter than that. Still think 168 is a push but maybe 160 is ideal. Has the skills to compete at the higher weight but will be giving up huge disparity in weight

This is actually a very interesting one to think about. I'm a huge Billy Joe fan..but Smith is a monster at super-middleweight. The styles clearly favour BJS, but size certainly doesn't. This could go either way.

I think I'm going to edge with Smith here, very late round tko. Smith punches with serious intent, so although I see BJS outboxing him for the majority, BJS can show glimpses where he switches off. We saw it once or twice against Lemieux (Despite how perfect the performance was) where he got caught by decent shots. Decent shots from Smith are big shots from Lemieux, so just a few of those could really punish him.

Agreed. His frame is quite thick set as well. If he wasn’t a boxer I think he’d be one of them who’s around 14 stone. Such a shame he’s been a d**k and wasted time in his career.

Lemieux is another who’s killing himself to make 160. He has serious power though, I think he could bingo the 168’s too.

I can't see this ever realistically happening. The size difference would mean BJS wouldn't be interested at all, and anyway Smith is with Matchroom whereas BJS is with Warren.

Regardless, if they did meet, I'd reiterate the above regardless Smith being too big and powerful even though BJS is the superior boxer.

It beggars belief how Smith can squeeze himself below 168. A genetic freak.

    I'd fancy smith by UD.

This fight will never happen and the reason is because both promoters would never ever agree to it. Its a shame they don't do business together because there are some great fights out there but it's the fans who are missing out.
If miracles did happen however, I think Smith wins.

Smith would smash him up imo and quicker than many would think. I don’t think Smith would respect Saunders’ power and just walk right through him. He can cut a ring off well and the most toned torso can’t do a thing about a good body shot never mind Billy’s flabby one.

    Smith within 5.

Haha. Callum is class mate. Very clever fighter, his size actually detracts from how skilful he is.
