just seen on Instagram he’s coming back, with Joe Gallagher once again training him. Worried for him as appears to be slurring his words and hard fights have took their toll on him.

If he needs to make a living and boxing is the only or best way for him to do that, no one can begrudge him for returning but yes, he's been slurring for years now and he's not getting back to British title level so I am not sure how advantageous it will be to him to continue boxing.

the night i seen Cardle almost drop and badly hurt Ritson was the moment I knew that Ritson wasnt as good as being made out.

Cardle always annoyed me, seemed to have good natural ability that didnt always seem to show on fight night. Seemed like a really awkward fighter but there was a reason he as never really moved on in terms of quality and was happy to stay at domestic level.

Does anyone know if Scotty considers himself Scottish? Scottish parents, has our accent but was born in England?

Yes that fight was where I grew serious respect for Cardle, the way he came out was amazing to watch and yep, he nearly took out Ritson there.

I'm sure Cardle considers himself a Scot. He supports Celtic.

Yeah I know he is a tim but i wasnt sure if that was the Galllachers influence? they are all tims as far as im aware.

Just never seen him talk about being Scottish and tends to favour the irish flag over the saltire. Very rarely fought in Scotland too, depsite there being loads of opportunities for him to do so.

ps i liekd the fact that he knew deep down that if he fought at a slow pace then Ritson woulda stopped him mid rounds, his only way was to go right at him 100mph and try and take his head off which he almost done ! I would much rather see this than someone go and try to survive and minimise the damage taken. Show a bit of ambition and at least try and win the fight which Cardle defo done.

I'm sure cardle fought in the international squad as an am.
I think it was the Scottish international squad.

I boxed on a show in Scotland with him about 11 years ago. He represented England at the World Championships. His dad was from Glasgow and his brother played football for Dunfermline.

I would have said he was more English but proud of his Scottish roots. Assuming he likes both countries.

On another note I don't want to see Cardle back in the ring. It could end in tragedy.

I think both his parents are from Glasgow but he was born in England, think he also spent most of his life up here (judging by his accent anyway!)
