I think it would be disappointing if it was a rematch with postol in May -- hopefully the scheduled fight happens
I'm sure it would, but under these circumstances, I really hope it's not the fight we end up with. Anything other than Taylor vs Baranchyk is a massive disappointment. Great fight to miss out on, unfair on Taylor not get the title shot he's earned, and spells trouble for the rest of the tourney and could lead to other fighters pulling out as well. Prograis' manager has already openly said they were considering it. Worrying times for the WBSS if you ask me.
I wish they'd clear up the whole Baranchyk situation. Is he in or is he out? I hope they're still in talks behind the scenes, but for now, I think no update is bad news. The last we heard from Baranchyk's team was they were definitely out, and that was even after the date and venue were confirmed. If the WBSS had got them back on side, I think we'd be hearing about it from Sauerland.
On sale "next week". No date given though. I don't think there's any danger of not getting a ticket. Even with Inoue on the card. He's appealing to the hardcore boxing fans but they're not the ones who sell out arenas. Add to that, the WBSS is getting more or less zero exposure in the UK, even less than series 1, as that was on ITV. I have mates who are casual boxing fans, who know who Josh Taylor is, but they didn't even know he was in the tournament and didn't know he was fighting the night he fought Martin.
cannot wait for this one but again the hydro wont be full without other big British names... Taylor has not even got close to filling it yet and inoue appeals to the hardcore only. Brilliant for Scotland to have him on the bill though and I will be buying my tickets when they go on sale
