From what I've seen of Ward, I've been very impressed, has an authoritative jab, good right, decent combination puncher and controls range pretty well. He already has some decent wins over Jazza and Sean Davis, and I'm pretty sure he'll handle Jesse Angel Hernandez, who's not going to be a walk in the park. But beyond that, is he capable of reaching world level so instead of just British level?
He won't get to world level IMO. He's a skilled boxer at the domestic level but will lose when he gets in with a legit contender. He ought to win this weekend, mind
Could possibly move on to world level, it depends how he progresses. He needs better conditioning imo, as he tends to be a lot livelier in the early rds. Good skill set. I do like watching him
Good boxer at British level, could maybe be a European champion. I'm not sure how he's got a world title eliminator but fair play, the guy he's fighting looks beatable.
He's talented but a total lack of power is his downfall. European level probably is his level. But against a weak champ or a vacant title or something he could maybe sneak a world title.
Brilliant performance from Ward last night. He was close to stopping Hernandez, and did give him a proper beating. He might not be a heavy puncher, but it looks like he might be improving a bit with that. Only 4 KOs on his record but 3 have been in his last 7. And that shot he dropped Hernandez with was a beauty. Hernandez was no bum either, no world beater but a solid operator anyway, and Ward showed he was levels above. Well done to him. He really impressed me in that fight.
