Marco Huck was a very good CW fighter, and he very nearly gave Povetkin all he could handle. Oleksander Usyk is arguably the best CW of all time, an Olympic gold medalist and he has battled bigger men before in the WSB. I believe Usyk will beat Povetkin. P.S: Not to throw shade at Povetkin, I am a big Povetkin fan, and Povetkin is a great HW
And where would they fight? In Russia? Hearn needs good fights for DAZN but how many people would come to see these two fight in America..?
Wouldn't be that surprised if he tries to get it in the UK for one of the Saturday Fight Nights that Adam Smith wants. He might be prepared to make this fight a loss leader and not make it PPV - it also builds the profile of Usyk nicely for a large audience.
Even in UK, would a lot of people want to come and see this fight (as a main event)? It would be an excellent co-main event, but I'm not sure it would make sense money wise.
This would make the most money in Russia I believe. Maybe Usyk could be a top Draw for Russian boxing, who knows.
With a seriously good undercard it might. I think something like this, Hearn might speculate to accumulate and be prepared to make a loss on this with the upside of boosting Usyk’s profile for future fights. If it’s a non-ppv it and just a normal Saturday night event it also keeps Sky happy and maybe appeases fans disappointed with the AJ situation. Just an idea though. It would be a great co-main event alongside Whyte vs Brezeale actually, not sure if feasible timings wise though.
Ouch since when everyone became a Povetkin fan? If I remember right he was one of the most hated guys on the forum just two years ago, now you claim the ALMIGHTY Povetkin will smash Usyk. You are so ridiculous guys...
i havent been overly impressed with what little ive seen of usyk, but since ive only seen 1 fight and some highlights, im giving him the benefit of the doubt due to all the gushing over him, maybe i just caught him in the wrong fight. but, if he does beat povetkin, then ill jump on the usyk train. i wasnt impressed relative to his hype, but he is a skilled operator.
Usyk can eat what he likes now and can get in 100% shape for this. Pov on a steep decline now imo, great time for Usyk to get him. Unless Pov rocks him early and puts Usyk on the back foot, this will be a clinical stoppage by the Ukrainian.
It wasn't meant as a comeback it was meant as a fact. You're a fanboy a monumentally untalented fighter that's gone life and death with a guy that was destroyed by David Haye, thoroughly embarrassed by Kubrat Pulev, Tyson Fury and beaten with these by Vitali Klitschko over half a decade ago. Dillian Whyte is Agit Kabayel level, and that kind of an insult to Agit. And you love him dearly. How sad. Don't get me wrong I love guys like Orlando Salido and John Molina Jr but I don't delude myself into thinking they're anything other then solid journeyman.
