How do you come to that conclusion? Jr and BJS fought to a split decision? Could have gone either way
Oh come on, James. There was levels between them, BJS tired and let Junior back into it but still won. If they boxed now, it would be an absolute schooling. Saunders went on to beat Andy Lee to be old world champion, Monroe Jn, Lemieux etc. Junior has been beaten when he’s stepped up. Don’t put them on the same level cos they’re not. Junior gives anyone a tough night but in terms of boxing skill he’s lacking big time.
Jr's win over King Arthur is miles better than anything BJS has done Who do you think goes down as the better fighter being honest King Arthur or those chaps? What happens if BJS gets ktfo against Andrade? Andrade is no Groves.... Does BJS become domestic level again?
Oh god, I thought you’d opened your eyes to Junior after that Groves fight. You’ve regressed bud. Abraham was shot to pieces. He was a carcass of his former self. Junior looked great against him, he was easily able to stand in front of Abraham and tee off.
DeGale looking in great shape per the new IFL video. Still think young Christopher of the manor will win this at a canter! Can understand why some people doubt him against elite level boxers but to claim he is British level (which I see often) is preposterous! English Jr is gonna take Chunky into deep waters and drown him. Can't wait for this one. Just wish Eubank Snr was more involved.
I really like the look of the draw at 19s. Given that they both love to take rounds off and I can't see there being any knockdowns. Although this is me assuming Degale is at 70/80% of his best. A fully fit Degale would be a very wide shut out.
Yeh I totally agree mate, I was just surprised anyone ever thought it was going to be £10. I’m with you on the Sky thing too. Although phoning them every 6 months and saying it’s too expensive gets you a nice discount I really can’t be bothered doing that anymore. It’s worked EVERY time I’ve phoned them so why don’t they just charge that price in the first place if they’re willing to when you ring them, instead of p***ing everyone off with their prices. I’ll have to have a good look round for some kind of alternative as a matter of principle.
At this stage of De Gales career he Eubank might not need one. Degale was dominated by Truax who's decent but lost every time he faced a world class fighter. Truax walked him down and beat him to the punch and Degale couldn't keep him off. There is every chance Junior can repeat that There is no doubt the Degale is the better boxer, but he's always taken portions of rounds off and he still didn't look great in Truax 2. Rarely does anyone recover from the kind of shoulder injury he had without some lasting effects. I can see Junior's pressure getting to Degale late and then it will depend on how the early portion the fight has gone. If Degale doesn't have a commanding lead it could spell a loss.
Would like to of seen a poll with this..i think Eubank will stop him in the later rounds...then cue loads of people on this forum jumping on Juniors shaft and start saying how he beats Canelo/Saunders etc etc
I think Junior has been managed badly. Look at that engine, look at the punches in bunches, decent chin, good pop at middleweight (despite his exaggerated powder-puff rep), and mentally he is a tough cookie to beat. The BJS fight was his first 12 rounder and it was a stupid and unnecessary fight to take - 18 months too soon at the time. I know, I know... if my uncle had tits he'd be my aunt.... but I really think this was poor matchmaking by managers/advisors, and only agreed to because Junior is a guy who'd been fed too many spoonful of "warrior's code" at a young age. Groves is a decent champion, and one of my own favourite fighters, and is at least two suit sizes bigger than Junior and I've had the pleasure of spending time with both. Junior still made a fight of it, and although I felt Groves dealt with him handily this wasn't a Lacey-esque schooling - it was just a dominant performance from a bigger world champion against a guy who once again let himself down by not preparing and not listening. That's the thing with being headstrong and arrogant. When you win people call you stuff like 'a legend'. When you take unnecessary L's people just call you a putz, a berk, a moron, a deluded muppet. If Eubank can put in a controlled and intelligent performance against Degale then I think we'll finally have some idea what 'level' the raw talent can take him to. Time is running out now though, thirty this year, can't have any more false starts.
This. My misses has got it on lock down when it comes to dealing with Sky. Seriously all the people who vent loads on here should bell them up. No lie she has got a few ppvs knocked off and they always giving discounts etc its worth doing...
