F**ks sake, I am in NYC from Thurs 9th and leave late on Wed 15th.

Why can't they make it May 11th?

I was even hoping that AJ might fight Fatty Miller on that date but it seems that will be June 1st if it is made.

So near, yet I am soooo far away!

Looking "insane"? Poor choice of words given his mental health struggles...

Thats a shame. I will be in mexico for canelo’s next fight, i know the fight isnt in mexico but they love boxing, all the fights seem to be on tv and the hotels sometimes have huge screens up outside. I watched Mayweather bs paquiao on a screen bigger than my house there.

Agree with that tbf I must be honnest haven’t watched a lot of wilders fights ( I’ve tried though). I can see why you might compare him to Haye, as they both drain themselves in a similar fashion (putting power in wasted shots).
Think that’s abit harsh on Haye though tbh Haye at least engaged inside and laid the foundations/worked his openings for the ‘haymaker’ and took time off to conserve energy(strategically).
Wilder just throws it from distance without earning/working the openings. But what shocked me from wilders time off was that it wasn’t strategic it was desperate/essential to survive.
It was surprising for a few reasons, one he was fighting an opponent who wasn’t throwing hurtful shots, wasn’t tying him up on the clinch, and clearly wasn’t fit, it was far from a war and fury was clearly not up
to full speed, yet wilders conditioning was exposed.
With the body type and frame wilder has (apart from his power) stamina should surely be one of the few advantages he would hold over the bigger men of the division.
Yet it was exposed as a weakness by arguably the most unfit ranked fighter in any division in any combat sport at elite level.

The fight should be an England. Compared to Fury, nobody cares about Wilder.

Good post. I think Haye’s fundamentals were far superior compared to Wilder’s. Whilst his style was explosive like you say he had the ring IQ to set traps and at 6”3 he needed it to work his way on the inside before he could pull the trigger. At 6”7 with those long levers, Wilder has the ability to pull the trigger and from further out and sometimes from awkward angles. He is very unique and that makes him very dangerous. He does work in short bursts and takes breathers but his recovery is very impressive and he carries power into the 12th.

He does carry power late and you are right that the reach he has allows him to throw from outside, it could even be essential now I think about it those limbs would fold up like a deck chair on the inside.
But I thought he should of done some body work (difficult at range I know) but fury’s liver and kidneys must be ready to pop, a few digs/hooks whipped into the body could of been devastating, then again fury gives so little target area for a man his size.
But Iam not sure wilders recovery is that impressive tbh he doesn’t even attempt to hide his fatigue, he just steps off and does nothing. He’s managed to get away with it so far, but if someone got him in the clinch tided him up i would think he would gas a lot quicker. There’s so many weaknesses in wilders all round game and only one strength, I just didn’t expect one of those weaknesses to tire so easily. Good points made well btw.
