Maybe with that said PBF was 36 when he fought Maidana he was past his best and still beat him. JLC was PBF's 1st fight at 135 and he was injured going in and outweighed by almost 20 pounds by JLC. In the rematch a healthy PBF won going away.

 

You as a long time boxing fan still cant understand that easy mistake in assuming that that theory works ???? You know it don't work like that

 

They were close fights that could have gone either way. And it's very unlikely that Pacquiao would struggle with them. Maidana due to size would last longer against Pac than JLC would.

That said JLC had a SOMEWHAT vulnerable chin. Mayweather just didnt have the power to take him out.

 

In this case it did doe. PBF beat both Pac and JMM easily the triangle theory is complete and worked.

To this point the biggest attempts are "Floyd is better and Floyd is rated higher by ESPN". Which doesnt address his point AT ALL. And "Pac was a malnourished teenager at Flyweight". Which is true, but that only makes him a greater. A starving 19 year old beat a primed out 28 year old elite Flyweight champ to claim the title.

 

Bottom line we don't have to speculate on what "would" happen, or other such hypotheticals...they fought, Floyd won...clearly and relatively easily. The rest is just noise...

The A+ level guy that Floyd shut out and used as a comeback fight? I love JMM and respect the hell out of him but he was over matched and dominated by Floyd, regardless of weight excuses, the skill gap was clear to all who chose to see.

 

Boxing is a weight constrained sport. If you want to watch boxing with an open class with no handicaps or excuses about weight then go watch the HW division.

 

The weight matters before the fight...once agreed to and they get in the ring voluntarily...at that point the results matter.
