Artur Beterbiev vs. Sullivan Barrera fight is OFF...

That's why the WBC wants champions from the American continent for their belts. Fighting in US/Mexico/Canada, generating revenue. A Russian, Ukrainian, Kazagh or Eastern European beltholder usually doesn't bring the goods in the US.

 

The fight was never officially on - I'm not really that surprised.

Barrera is a Cuban fighter and Cuban fighters usually have a tough time scoring big purses. Sullivan might have passed his prime already - so if he gets stopped by Beterbiev...it's pretty much over for him.

Beterbiev has a pretty poor promoter - Yvon Michel. Sure Beterbiev has got that IBF strap - but that doesn't mean this is a big money fight. So it's probably not worth the risk for Barrera.

No big deal. Kovalev-Beterbiev is what I want to see and I expect it's what most fans want to see, too.

 

Alexander Besputin seems ok

 

Forget Pascal, Marcus Browne should fight him.

 

beterbiev probably sat out of his prime very capable and he has the skills to do well versus anyone but he just fights never

I suspect we will see Beterbiev fight someone highly ranked, like Kovalev or Gvozdyk this year. ESPN will demand it through Top Rank and there will be enough money on the table to make it worthwhile for everyone.

 

I’m sorry but Beterbiev is becoming another Adonis Stevenson which makes me not want to see him at all

 

difference is Stevenson generated a lot of money and had no shortage of people wanting to fight him.

beterbiev is risk and 0 reward as he isn't worth anything. he's also promoted by top rank but top rank has to pay GYM 10-15% off the top just to use him without GYM lifting a finger.
