the tyson draw is something better, but he needs more than one fairly decent opponent that was draw. look at his resume at "title level" - 3 guys near enough 40 are the hardest after fury. Thats appalling. A 40 year old unless they had some kind of massive angle, should be fighting for the title.

UNless he proves otherwise in the future, you'll one day be admitting that wilder was an "actor" brought in by a media company to make some money.

He aint an actor he is the real deal... Ortiz and Fury had all the chances in the world to box his head off.

noone expects a 40 year old to expose anyone. they are fights for prospects IF they have some former pedigree, Ortix had none. Mike Tyson was knocking out a dozen Ortizs a year on his way outside the top ten.

Of course Wilder may suprise me and go on to make a string of credible defences and then I'll eat my hat.

I think he would get walked down by AJ, and fury would jab his head off and lean all over him. He doesn't have the size or power to beat the elite super heavyweights. There is a big difference between being great at CW and HW. Haye was a monster at CW, stick him in with someone 5 inches taller, 30 pounds heavier with a huge reach advantage and it's a different game

 

Being sensible about it, Usyk walks straight into the HW Top 15, maybe even just scrapes into the Top 10.

Remember, this is before he has even had a fight at this level so - and I know it is Boxing - being sensible has to play a major part of proceedings.

I think, if all goes to plan, he becomes Top 5 across the board after 2 fights if he fights a Top 15 then a Top 10 guy and performs superbly to capture the moment(s). Perception to the public eye is key. Build the hype, build the image, build the demand.

By early 2020, once Fury/Wilder and AJ has cleared Miller/ Mando (Pulev if he takes it) out, then the stage is cleared and set for the a Top 5 - in no real order, of AJ, Wilder, Fury, Whyte, Usyk and if Parker shows up, then make it a Top 6.

Imagine this round robin of fights! WBSS? A shame that Povetkin is 39, a prime version of him would be the icing on the cake.

Anyway, just enjoy the next 18 months as things start to unfold. Exciting times ahead.

Valuev. yuh... big difference is he made valuev look amateur.

 

2005 Boxing World Cup won silver.... and then we have Wilder who was schooled by a guy half his size at the olympics... I cringe everytime I remember his performance. Yeah the guy who beat him was highly decorated... but Wilder performed worse then the kids down my local ABC.

 

Usyk has a Glass Jaw. He went life and death with a shot Bellew. All three would thrash him soundly.

And as an example of how Ortiz is more technically capable and experienced than Wilder as a boxer through numerous amateur bouts and contests.

And despite the power Luis ortiz brings with that wealth of experience, talent, skill and prowess... he could not make Wilder, the inferior boxer, the lighter man... fall over.
