I said same myself at first bud. I’ve changed my mind over time though. Spence is the bigger man but he’s limited a bit by the 10ib rehydration clause and Garcia is a much more skilled than any previous opponent. He’s very difficult to land clean on but he makes his opponents work very hard with his jab and perfect control of distance. Garcia is used to boxing bigger, stronger opponents. Think he beats him on points.
That's only 10lb in the morning though isn't it? After he's re-weighed in, he can do what he likes. He does control distance very well, but we've seen that against people closer to his weight, who will be less inclined to want to close the distance due to his power at lower weights. Will Spence be as worried about what is coming back as Garcia's previous opponents? i'm not so sure, Spence is basically a light-middleweight. Most of Garcia's opponents have been smaller than him really i think. I just think Garcia is too basic (style wise) to be able to mitigate the size factor.
Same here pal. The odds are looking extremely tempting if you're that way inclined. Nearly 4/1 for Garcia outright.
I really hope ITV are showing this. They didn't show Davis vs Ruiz last week and they're not showing Santa Cruz vs Rivera tomorrow night either. So they're not automatically showing all PBC cards.
Yeah, it’s in morning the second weigh in mate, but it’s still difficult when you’re as big as Spence and you boiling yourself down as it is. He’s been the smaller (in height) man many times. Robert Easter Junior was 5”11 but he dealt with his natural size advantage quite comfortably. I think his style is very subtle in negating his opponent.
Well, it had to happen I suppose. Just had a look at the upcoming fights on the Boxnation website and there are.....no fights at all. Boxing channel shows no fights. Hilariously, it still says, If you would like to subscribe to Boxnation it's £12 per month. To think, once this was a genuinely exciting concept. Mr Warren should be ashamed of himself.
Real shame. The British content was rarely great but they used to get all the top international fights and I don't think any other channel will pick that up to the same degree.
I got rid about 6 months ago, shame to see what it is now. I used to like it when they picked up cards from Russia, always good viewing.
So this great card is on at 2am Sunday 10th March- up to 530am What time should I tune in if I want to watch the main 3 fights only? Dmitry Bivol (No. 3) vs. Joe Smith Jr. (No. 9) 12 rounds – light heavyweights (for Bivol’s WBA title) Maurice Hooker (No. 5) vs. Mikkel LesPierrre 12 rounds – junior welterweights Callum Johnson vs. Sean Monaghan 10 rounds – light heavyweights Is there anything other than the above 3 worth watching?
As per Dennis Hobson’s Facebook Page- “Tommy Frank vs Belfast's Luke Wilton for the Commonwealth Super Flyweight Title, live at 9pm on Freesports (Freeview 64; Sky 422; Virgin 533; Freesat 252; TalkTalk 64; BT 64)”. This is tonight and should be decent.
