Baysangurov is slipping jabs as he follows Brant around the ring, but enough are landing to reopen the nasal hemoglobin faucet. Brant is juddering to his left, falling off-center as Baysangurov throws a 1-2, and hitting back out with a three-piece, even landing diagonally up from a sideways lean. Brant is whipping Baysangurov with left hooks coming up from a crouch and skipping around, popping jabs into the face. Crisp 1-2 by Brant and Baysangurov is forced almost back into a corner. Baysangurov's nose bleeding nonstop, might be broken, which Ward & Bradley just now pick up on as I'm typing that. Baysangurov walks into a couple of jump-up right hands and reaches down with a 1-2, missing the jab but grazing with his own right.

*Chechen-Russian, ethnically. He and his brother were born in Ukraine but I don't believe they identify as Ukrainian. They're cousins of former titlist Zaurbek Baysangurov (who fought under the Russian banner in the amateurs, with a win over Sergey Derevyanchenko)

 

Round 7

Baysangurov is throwing pot-shot three-pieces from outside, sitting down on an invisible chair and then launching himself at Baysangurov's face with viciousness and velocity when the latter steps close. Baysangurov just pulled toward Brant via tractor beam, stepping and jabbing, sometimes changing it up with a long reaching left hook lead while jerking his own head back cautiously, but he's too straightforward, and Brant is giving him far too many different angles. Brant dipping & rising, lighting him up and keeping that nose spurting.
