Sky is part of a large American Corporation called Comcast. In what possible way can Anthony Joshua affect the pay of senior executives who have nothing to do with the Sports Division of Sky UK. Sky Sports main money maker is the Preimer League. Boxing is a sideshow. It’s as simple as that. Joshua v Miller will probably still end up doing +1M Buys. Mayweather-Hatton, Mayweather-Pacquiao and Mayweather-Mcgregor all did that on Sky. Why wouldn’t Joshua ?
Yes they'll have an idea but if he is getting a career high pay day then they are putting in a lot of money, a huge amount. Perhaps they're seeing it as a trial - but they'll want big big results for that money. I think you'll see Joshua really going overboard trying to sell this fight. Any idea if he's signed a long term deal in the states or is he a free agent over there after this?

Yet another AJ, MR, Hearn, Brit casual hating sock puppet. This is getting like Whack-A-Mole. AJ is fighting the number 2 ranked, undefeated US heavyweight in his backyard at MSG. Wilder, Fury and to a lesser extent, Whyte never had any intention of fighting AJ next, so WTF else is AJ supposed to do? The hatred for anything even remotely associated with AJ or MR is becoming irrational. What I want is the best for the sport of boxing as a whole. I don't particularly wish any ill will on any fighter, Wilder annoys the **** out of me because he IS full of shite, but everyone else I appreciate for the effort they put into entertaining us and promoting the sport I love.
There's clearly a few people on here who want this to bomb badly. But there's not really been any hard evidence that Joshua or his career really is about to bomb. A simple question. If the casuals really have turned on Joshua, what do you think would be a demonstration of that in terms of UK PPV sales?

I don’t like Joshua, but overall I think Matchroom have been good for British boxing and Hearn is a good promoter. I don’t want them to have it all their own way though so this event not being a commercial success is something I’d want to see. I’m not getting drawn into a tedious discussion about percentages, splits and PPV - but I would’ve liked to have seen at the very least Hearn make a deal with Whyte if no Fury/Wilder fight was possible. Whyte has earned his shot. In the circumstances this isn’t a terrible fight really, but I don’t want it to do well commercially thus vindicating the decision to make these sort of fights.
Unfortunately Whyte already had a shot at Joshua, albeit a non-title holding version, and he was badly knocked out. Like it or not, that does harm his chances of forcing a rematch. Also, the decision to 'make these sort of fights' is something that has happened in boxing since time immemorial. The list of fighters who can make up a heavyweight super fight are few and far between.
