What would be the optimal and most favourable game plan for Jarrell Miller to execute in his fight against AJ. Let's debate all things including his ideal weight, ring tactics punch combinations, punch output etc. Personally, I do not think he will win, I think it is a very easy night of work for AJ. A night in which AJ decides 'I can knock him out whenever I want... Let us go to around 5-7 so the fans get to see some rounds and then a quick spectacular knockout to close the show...'
I think Miller's work rate could be a problem for Joshua. I just haven't seen him against top level guys, so I don't know how his defense and everything is.
Joshua a -600 favorite, meaning you’d have to bet $600 on a Joshua victory to win $100. There`s little chance Miller winning unless AJ gasses under Miller`s high work rate, that`s the only way, Miller doesn`t have the power to knock AJ out but if he can wear him down he could take him out in the later rounds if AJ doesn`t pace himself that`s the only way.
Those guys hit hard. A lucky shot from Miller should get him the win to state the obvious. I don't see Miller winning as he's not as athletic as Joshua. I've never watched a full fight of Millers so it should be interesting.
I think millers high pressure would be it downfall, he will get in close and catch one of those monsterous uppercuts
Personally I havn't yet seen enough of Miller to know what threat he is to AJ. He is ranked in the top 10 worldwide.. therefore he can't be that bad, he talks the talk so let us see if he walks the walk. This is heavyweight boxing and therefore anything can happen.
It all comes down to how good Miller’s chin is, since it hasn’t been tested yet. If Miller turns out to be very durable and can neutralize Joshua’s check hook, and get to Joshua’s body early he might be able to pull the upset, but even then I wouldn’t bet on it.
The first time Millers legs shake from a ferocious AJ overhand or uppercut, he'll quickly realise that he is out of his depth. He'll either cover up in survival mode or he'll try to fight fire with fire. Both have the same inevitable conclusions. On his backside staring at the ceiling. Basically, AJ outguns Miller in almost every department. This a tune up fight for the American audience. I hope Wilder is watching.
Miller needs to prepare for Joshua like anyone else, work on speed, agility and plenty of head movement. I think a lot of people are unfairly writing off Miller. Povetkin showed he can be outboxed by a smaller guy, and while Joshua throws monstrous head shots, Miller throws monstrous body shots that grinds everyone down in the first couple rounds. If Miller can make it past 3 rounds, hes going to be facing an already tired and gassed Joshua. He needs to be on Joshua like a fat kid on a cup cake from the get go, smother him like a bear and dont let him breathe or let him set for those big shots. If he can avoid getting KOed early, Miller has a chance of beating Joshua by grinding him into the ground like he does everyone else. Joshua is just a man. Smother him, body shots, watch him gass and take away his power, outwork him.
It would have been nice seeing Miller in with a puncher instead of fighting a bunch of featherfisted journeymen that didn't have anything to keep Miller away from moving forward constantly. AJ will hurt him badly and either force Miller into survival mode or get him out of there mid rounds I feel.
Miller will need to back him up, overwhelm him with his work. maybe stop him late. we will find out if he has the jaw to implement that plan.
Joshua has been rocked several times in his career, stop treating him like he's invincible. Big Baby has never been rocked, he just needs to keep going forward until Joshua cracks. it can happen! not saying it will tho lol
