You're a very smart, educated, and overall very good poster. That said, we are going to have to agree to disagree here. I think Loma embarrasses him and makes him retire in between rounds -- forever.
Unfortunately there is a good possibility toure right. And that shoulder surgery and injury still scare me. But ya I'm starting to get the feeling he's just burnt out over it all. If he could have it his way I'm sure he would have fought the best competition in the world from 126-140 already, winning most and possibly losing one or two but no doubt he would have tested himself against the best even if he was badly outgunned size wise and physically.
I think Loma's movement and anticipation is enough for him to win this, realistically he's got 3 years or so to try and get in 8 top fights and then get out of boxing with enough money to set him and his family up for a high quality life.
I'd favor Loma over Lopez right now. I'm not sure that Loma is slowing down. He's just just fighting guys his size now, that are solid, and not quitting. Everything is gravy when he has three or four inches on opponents, fighting smaller men, bums, or guys who were on the shelf. Now that he is fighting guys his size, who aren't quitting, the excuses are gushing forth. Loma is Loma. He's just having a bit more of a challenge with the last couple opponents. Linares, and Tank's son are solid, but nothing to right home about. What do you think would happen to Loma, if Russell Jr., or Rigondeaux was actually his size? Hell yeah Lopez would be a tough order for Loma right now, but I'd still favor Loma. Prograis would absolutely get in that arse though, as would Crawford. Loma will have his two soft touches against Crolla and Commey, and then let's see if Arum continues protecting him.
Even though I dont know you personally, I'm pretty sure I'd get along well with you in person and I'm sure toure a real solid dude. That said, some of tour takes on this site or ****ing skewed and there is an obvious bias that usually shines through. You're allowing your bias to cloud tour ability to objectively analyze fights and fighters. To say that Loma is just now fighting guys his own size is delusional. Whatever you are seeing brother, is ****ed and way off the mark. As for Crawford and Prograis....... Come the **** on man, of course Crawford would beat him, hes naturally anywhere from 3-5 weight classes bigger than Loma, so throwing that out there is screaming insecurity. As far as Prograis goes..... Hes a damn good fighter with p4p murderous power and much bigger than Loma. If they fought he certainly would have a shot at winning, with that kind of power he has a shot at beating anyone at 140. But a prime and totally healthy Loma, IMO, pieces Prograis up. I don't see Prograis having the skill, speed, or style to come close to catching Loma with anything close to significant. But hey, it would be an awesome fight regardless of who won and both would deserve massive respect for fighting each other.
I have Loma as my pound for pound #1. Not sure how I'm biased. I just don't like all the excuses from the Loma ball gobblers. The only thing insecure here is people who get insecure when I apply the same scenario to Loma, that was applied to Rigondeaux, or call out how Loma isn't looking all world when he is fighting guys his size. As far as Crawford and Prograis, I know they are both bigger than Loma, just like Loma was bigger than Rigondeaux. Loma is in his prime now. He's looking lackluster fighting guys "his size" Linares, and Pedraza weren't 5'3 and 5'4 midgets. Pedraza was Tank's leftovers though, and he moved up to fight Lomachenko. The theme here is that, guys who are Loma's size, who have a little talent, and don't quit, are giving him problems. No big deal. He's having to work a bit. The excuse makers can take their excuses and shove them though. and as I said previously. Lopez would be a tough fight for Loma, but I'd favor Loma right now. That might change in the near future.
Ok I can roll with that like I said before personally I like you even though we have some differing opinions on fighys and fighters, especially Jacobs whom I think you underrated massively and not gonna lie it chaps my ass, as immature as that sounds. But then again im biased towards Jacobs, he and Pascal are my favorite fighters in the world right now since Ward retired and for some reason it just personally irks me when I feel people don't give Jacobs the respect I feel he deserves. But come on man, Loma is not fighting giys his size, he is not a natural LW, and Linares and Pwdraza were clearly larger than him. Loma's natural class is 126-130. As for p4p #1........ Ya I can roll with Loma there, but IMO only Loma and Crawford have the legit claim to be p4p #1 and I'm personally torn and split between who to rank #1 right now. But ya either one is acceptable to me, and right after them in no particular order, Usyk, Canelo, Spence Jr., Mikey Garcia, and Inouye are close to those to. Its cool man, like I said, ive always liked you and respected you, we just gonna have to agree to disagree on these thing. But look, all respect brother and personally I wish you the best. Its always enjoyable debating boxing with you and the dialogue is always class. Have a nice Sunday brother.
With respect, & everyone is entitled to there opinion but you're not the greatest judge of match making considering you picked Wilder to KO Fury, Lemieux to stop BJS, GGG to KO Canelo & Brook over Spence... & you're a huge Charlo fanboy too (both of whom just got exposed pretty much) so forgive me if I respectfully disagree that a prospect with a very thin resume & who hasn't even gone past B- level yet beats a technician like Loma.. Maybe in 3 years tho, who knows, time waits for no mas..
I'd hope nobody on this forum takes the opinions of others personal. Jacobs has stagnated in my opinion. And when he had his chance for redemption, he was content with being able to take Golovkin's punches, instead of making sure he banked enough rounds to win. I was disappointed that he let Golovkin out jab him. As far as Lomachenko, are we picking and choosing now? Loma's natural weight is the weight class is the weight class that his body has grown into. The excuses you and others are making for Loma, is like me saying that Floyd is a natural 130 pounder, or natural lightweight. That Jones Jr. is a natural middleweight etc. It sounds totally foolish. Guys mature, and their bodies grow out of weight classes. Not saying you did this, because I don't recall, but when forum members pointed out that Loma was bigger than certain opponents, it was called an excuse for the opponent. Loma is more Linares, and Pedraza's size, then Rigondeaux, Tatakhun, and Russell Jr, were Lomachenko's size. The Loma fanatics had no shame, trying to shrink Loma down into a 5'5 1/2 height fighter. lol. The man is 5'7. Taller than Bradley, Porter and other guys that fight at higher weight classes. Loma is also solidly built, like a tank. It's between him and Crawford at this point, but loosely, as they both have been leaving a lot to be desired with their opposition, and looking less than stellar in the process considering the opponents. When Inoue wins the WBSS, or if Mikey beats Spence, than I'll move either guy into that top spot. Have a good one, Shalom, Salaam.
