Saunders would be completely stupid to not take this fight. I don’t see how anyone can blame him. Have a go at the WBO for their idiotic rankings.

Whoever comes through this weekend would be a natural opponent potentially for Saunders. It’s a very savvy move from Saunders and no different to Canelo moving up to snatch a cheap title (not even a proper world title) from Fielding.

There's a lot of things you can take shots at Saunders for, but the state of the WBO ranking system isn't one of them.

Who would not want to become a two weight world champion!! Dont see the Canelo fight ever happening but am sure they could tempt GGG to 168 with a belt on the line.

I'm pretty certain that that is the motive here. From Golovkin's point of view, there's no reason why he can't move up to 168 for one fight and then come back down for the trilogy with Canelo. Golovkin would probably weigh in at like 165 for a fight against Saunders at SMW.

If Hearn put on this fight you would go mental.

Mental? No. Would I criticise a poor fight, yes. Would I criticise the fighter? No.

So I don’t see what your problem is here. I didn’t praise Warren for this fight, I never even mentioned him.

As is usually the case in boxing, this fight makes sense for everyone involved except for the fans.

GGG would weigh in at the limit and come in at 180+, he's a natural 168lber that boils down

We can criticize who we like to be fair.

Listening to this **** gloat about beating an absolute bum to become a 2 weight world champion is not my cup of tea.

On the contrary, I've read that Golovkin walks around close to the MW limit, and doesn't do much weight-cutting at all.

    Smokes and mirrors

He weighed in at the absolute limit on the 2nd day weigh in vs Jacobs and not far off vs Brook eg 170lbs

And he walks around at 160 lol

    Well that's what I read.

Plus he's fought his whole career at middleweight, just short of 13 years so that suggests that he's been fighting at the correct weight for him.

    The plot thickens...

So the reigning champ hasn't even been told the belt isn't his anymore...
