Exactly, people are losing sight because Miller is 300 pounds and can do 12 rounds. That is nice to brag about down the local pub or local gym...

But going 12 rounds at the highest level in your division, against the top level opponents, with Olympic and amateur pedigrees, seasoned dedicated atheletes like Joshua who have the strongest team of fitness trainers, nutritionists behind him and camps....

Nope, you cannot just walk into that world and take over. Unless you are superhuman like Captain America.

No fast track to that level of fitness, opposition or quality... you have to climb there by taking the hard fights and training smart with the right teams, camps and sparring partners. Of which, Miller has not shown as of yet.

I agree on that first point you made. Definitely right. But still we don't know how good or bad Millers stamina is vs. AJ. We'll see. But we can definitely say that AJ had some issues in his few fights where had to go to the later rounds. Especially vs. Takam and Wlad. And come on, Wlad was shot to pieces and barely stand in the later rounds and Takam wasn't even stopped correctly. He was stopped while standing and the stoppage was bs. The Parker fight was different. He was fighting very defensively there with his jab doing almost all the work for him. As Parker didn't bring any pressure to AJ we can't take this as a case study for AJ having a good stamina. But we can't take Miller fighting Duhaupas or Wach in the later rounds with good movement and activity as a case study too as both Dauhaupas and Wach were also bringing almost no pressure including Wach being injured.

Yeah but we know how serious Wlad and Takam are with fitness, those guys are ALWAYS in the best shape of their lives, it shows on their body, and in their training. They are the rolemodels for fitness and conditioning in the heavyweight division.

Wach and Dauhaupaus are weekend warriors by comparison.

Besides, these are heavyweights, as you move up the spectrum of boxing weight categories you gain power and lose stamina.

It's just physics, bigger body, bigger guys, they will not be as fit as Pacaquio. AJ is carrying a lot of muscle on his frame as well which needs a lot of oxygen over 12 rounds with top level opponents.

Wlad and Takam are both old. You can't compare sb. at age 37 or 42 with a 30yo....Miller IS in his prime. If you talk about physics and biology you should consider age as a factor. Maybe a HW is fading later than a FW but still...41 yo Wlad can't be compared to 30yo Miller. And we're talking about a Wlad who was out of the ring for how long? Almost 2 years?

I like Joshua as a boxer but i'm not huge fan boy (current fighters being Whyte, Warrington, Uysk, Loma, Gassiev).

AJ's tank aint the best but it isn't really bad, the Wlad fight aside. The Wlad fight has made people think AJ will always gas badly, leading to a strategy of 'Just tire him out and eventually take over late on' which doesn't work. It benefits Joshua because fighters generally don't come at him hell for leather anymore.

If I was Miller I'd put everything I had, everything, into knocking Joshua out inside 3 rounds.

The alternative is a Joshua UD or late TKO.

That's true, but we know Wlad never stops training and this proves my point... Fury takes two years off and ends up 400 pounds, Wlad takes 2 years off and comes in looking even better than he ever did in his whole life.

Yeah scientifically fitness drops as you get older, but at 40 you can still have a high level of fitness to compete. Just like you can still produce sperm and make babies even if your sperm count is lower, and erections less frequent.

Takam and Wlad have proven to have great stamina against solid opponents. Miller and his opponents have not.
So we agree it is an unknown, and also an unlikely... because you NEED good opponents to prove your stamina as we already discussed and you agreed.

I can argue to myself and say Miller can lean on AJ and make AJ carry 300 pounds, that could happen but I see AJ keeping Miller honest very early and not letting him come that close to him for fear of uppercuts and hooks.

Of course he trained and obviously he was in great shape for the AJ fight but age isn't lying. You can be in great shape at 40, take a look at bodybuilding competitions, most of the guys are between 30-40 and are looking unbelievable. It's all about nutrition if you want to look good. It's easy as 1+1. Wlad probably looks as good as vs. AJ at age 50 in 5-6 years from now. But looking in great shape and having a good stamina are two complete different things. I mean take a look at Andy Ruiz Jr. He looks like a fatty and he is a fatty but he has great stamina and was easily(!) fighting Parker in the late rounds who is well known for having a good stamina. Wlad looked shot and his stamina was really bad in the late rounds. He was more stopped due to being exhausted and feeling the power even more under those circumstances.

I think Miller has various options to fight AJ. One is he's throwing body shots early, using the jab, focusing on the distance and keeping a mid pace, then raising the pressure after 5-6 rounds. The other option is to go full beast mode early but i doubt he'll do that. He can also try to box for full 12 rounds. Why not? Miller is more than a fat slugger with no defense. Miller is technically much better than most think and he has variety, most of HWs lacking variety. He throws from some awkward angles too. AJ hasn't fought a guy like him and i am excited to see that as i think this will be a damn close fight where everything can happen. Do not overreact due to a thread title. Obviously it'll come back to me if Joshua wins by KO in the early rounds but even if Joshua stops Miller late and it was a damn close fight before i am not so far away as they who predicted an early KO and a total domination job. Still, i am very confident this will go the distance OR Miller stops Joshua. Don't ask me why but i am not seeing Joshua by stoppage here.

    We'll see.

You're right we don't know how good Miller's stamina is, he's yet to face anyone that could push him and test him, he's always been able to fight at the pace he wanted to set. But it's different when you go up a level and fight the top guys that can push you and force you to fight at their pace when they want at times. Top fighter will press when you want to rest or slow the pace, it isn't always bout how much you throw but when you raise or drop the tempo.

Joshua most notably gassed vs Whyte and Wlad the 2 best guys he's fought. He was pushed in those fights to some degree and it caused him to gas. Miller seems to have a good work rate but when pushed he may very well have issues. We saw the same thing happen with Arreola, he had no stamina issue then Stiverne made him work harder than he wanted and he gassed bad in their first fight.

As for the Joshua/Takam fight, Joshua obviously was struggling with the pace a bit, he wasn't gassing but he was clearly working hard to try and cut off the ring and pressure Takam and he did look lethargic at times. But he was at his career heaviest weight for that fight, I think he's learned he can't come in that heavy and fight with the same intensity.

Miller's only chance is to force the pace and make Joshua gas. He can't out box him, he can't out slug him, all he can do is swarm and pressure and tip Joshua over the edge, any fighter when tired is vulnerable and if he can get Joshua to that point he has a shot. But I think it's a big ask, he's going to have to walk through bomb after bomb and stay in the danger zone for long periods if he's to keep the pressure on Joshua and nobody so far has been able to do that for very long.

Where's the exaggeration here? Nothing I said isn't true. Wlad dropped him and nearly stopped him, Whyte hurt him badly with a left hook and had him out on his feet, many posters on here and twitter thought Parker did enough to edge it, Povetkin won several rounds and rocked AJ. Nothing I said is untrue.

The only people that find this post egregious are delusional fanboys who only see what they want to see.

Ergo, yourself. Not getting into this, all those guys were stopped definitevely so you are clutching at straws and alternate realities. We can play the alternate reality game all day, and I'm very good at it.

Parker was never ever gonna win that fight, ever.

This will be Joshua's Sam Peter fight , even though Miller is better than Peter.

I wonder if AJ hits the deck 3 times , goes n life death , having to hold on for dear life round after round like Wlad did against his lesser version of Miller.
    Hmmmm . :confundio1::confundio1:

The people who thought Parker won vs Joshua probably also scored for Holyfield in the first fight with Lewis, for Tito vs De La Hoya and for Wilder vs Fury. There's always a few who DKSAB and who couldn't score a fight correctly if their lives depended upon it. Saying Parker was competitive let alone won is clutching at straws.

The Takam and wlad fight’s were also the 2 fights were he weighed in the heaviest he’s weighed witch clearly contributed slightly to him gassing and he’s kept his weight down since wish we could say the same about miller who had zero discipline when it comes to his weight.

No, I said they all had a chance, and the fact that two of them almost stopped AJ, a third was outboxing him, and the other arguably outpointed him and was in fact NOT DEFINITIVELY STOPPED. Proves that my this is possible... was actually a little more accurate that all the AJ Goons proclaiming easy work, KO's For Life *****es!!!! They said easy work, AJ walks right through them, I said AJ will struggle and could lose. Kind of like what @f1ght3rz is doing with this thread. But for some reason the mere thought of deviating away from the talking points of Eddie Hearn's Stormtroopers provokes an all out assault. You guys are all bitchy and hyper defensive for a reason, you know he's as flawed as we say he is, yet can't bring yourselves to admit it.

Actually no, most of the guys on the RBR that can actually score had it for Parker by a point or a draw, go check. Most of the rest aren't known for their match scoring acuity.
