HOF doesn't work this way. You don't get in based on a few wins over other HOFers.

I think he could get in one day.

    A very tough fighter.

Two important questions to ask though:

    1. Why did he feign injury in order to get Roch disqualified in their first fight? (very out of character)

    2. Why didn't he drop the WBO belt after he'd beaten Hill for the WBA and IBF titles?

Regarding #2, the WBO was very lightly regarded back then. It's only in the last, I'd say, 10 years it gained status along the other belts. NOt to mention, historically, their rankings have been some of the worst.

I never understood why DM (And Joe C to an extent) were so complacent w/ their WBO titles. They also seemed to stave off unification w/ other belts.

For many years, I believed that Dariusz was unfairly stripped of his 2 titles that he won from Virgil Hill. But over the last few years, my opinion has changed.

I've read that other WBO champs were also stripped of their titles, both before and after Dariusz, as the other main organisations didn't recognise the WBO. And I believe that Dariusz and his advisor simply must have been aware of this, considering that his advisor was an astute businessman, as well as the fact the WBO were originally formed by disgruntled ex-members of the WBA.

    So:

Could he have kept his 2 main titles had he immediately relinquished his WBO belt?

Why didn't he immediately relinquish the WBO belt?

He must have known going into the Hill fight that there were going to be issues afterwards.

He always gave me the impression that he wasn't too fazed by the decisions. He seemed happy to just keep hold of the WBO belt.

Regarding Joe, he was too good to repeatedly defend that title. But he obviously kept a hold of it because he was content in doing so, just like Eubank was before him.

    True.

It was typical of Frank W's fighters back in the day. But why didn't Dariusz bin his WBO belt as soon as he'd beaten Hill? Because he must have known going into the fight that the WBA would have issues with it.

Thing about these records, with the number of belts we've had for ages now. TWO can do the same record at the same time. Joe C and Sven Ottke basically did the same thing at the same time. Makes both rather rubbish-ish IMO.,

He was a very good fighter but to me he falls short of being a hall of Famer. Would have liked to have seen him against Jones or Maske.

Never fighting RJJ hurt his stock

Best fight at 175 and maybe even in all of boxing at the time

Still get mad when I think about the fight not happening

Hasnt the HOF already pretty much established that the bar for admission is less than ATG?
