The man at times looked ugly but he was a very effective fighter .. with 41 KO's in 45 wins he has one of the highest KO ratios in heavyweight history but if you watch him fight he was an arm puncher that beat men down .. I can say that the only fight I saw Vitali fight angry and put his power behind the shots was the Kirk Johnson fight .. I don't know if it was a matter of his style or injuries over time but the man really rarely put his weight behind his shots .. Thoughts ?
I don't think I can add anything really .Vitali 's power is a bit overated imo at least if Lewis' chin was as bad as some on here claim!
Definitely not a one punch KO artist. Especially the Lewis fight doesn't look good for him, since he couldn’t even budge him despite landing flush.
He connected flush on Briggs chin countless times and couldn't floor him and Briggs was well past his prime by then.
LOL, weight behind his shots ? He was the quintessential Arm Puncher........the vast majority of his ko's came by attrition against over the Hill never weres cannon fodder.......what is his elite KO win ? Easy answer, none, and TKO6 aint no win. Now, he does have a decent chin, however it was never really tested besides a stone old Lewis and another upper cut from the 6 th on would have put him down for good.......the only elite fighter who was halfway out the door put a viscous beating on him with zero finesse.........that chin would have cracked for good facing prime Tyson, Bowe, Foreman , Ruddock or Lewis......those guys including Ruddock would have put THAT version of Lewis to sleep, guaranteed........VK failed and got mauled hamburger style.
Accumulation puncher whose work rate got people out of there as oppose to his bro who could one shot guys to sleep.. Both ways = KO win...
Never said Lewis didnt hit hard as **** lol. Klit kept fighting and stayed champ till he retired after those 68 stitches. Lewis went away with his tail between his legs. I get better with age... LOL
LO @ you, A cut above the eye.....a cut next to the eye.....a cut underneath the eye.....cuts on both lips.....cuts inside the mouth...there was hardly a place were he was not cut....that Lemmie must be some kind of a puncher that he opened all those cuts with as you phrased it "One punch"
Yet Lewis got hit with many more power shots, was out on his feet, SLUMPED down on his stool after the 6th round looking dead tired and about to lose. Get over it, Vitali battered Lewis on 2 weeks notice. Vitali was ready to fight a bum and Lewis was ready for a HW title fight. Lewis retired at 37 years old while Vitali was still defending his strap later into his career at 40.
Trump is Pres not Hillary England is no longer a super power. The sky is blue TKO6 is the best VK could come up with. All above are facts.
Lewis was in serious jeopardy but he dug deep and nearly tore Klitchko's face off. Lewis was nearly 38 when he retired - it's not like he retired at a young age. Maybe he wasn't sure if he could beat Klitchko again in a rematch, but so what? He knew he was aging and declining and likely did the smart thing.
